The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has launched an investigation after footage of a crow pecking at a bag of raw meat outside a food court in Jurong West emerged online.
Footage shared on social media shows a crow perched on top of a plastic crate outside Koufu's Pioneer Mall outlet on Sept 21 , pecking at a plastic bag that appears to be filled with raw meat.
There are multiple crates filled with fresh produce surrounding the crow, and at least one other barrel also containing a bag of raw meat.
An employee at the food court told Shin Min Daily News that the ingredients belonged to his stall, and that the person who witnessed the incident had reported it to him that day.
He immediately discarded the meat, adding that the supplier must have forgotten to cover the baskets after delivering the ingredients the night before, he told Shin Min.
In response to AsiaOne's queries, SFA said it is looking into the matter.
"As part of the enquiry and gathering of evidence, SFA may engage the feedback provider for more details and will not hesitate to take enforcement action if sufficient evidence has been obtained," the agency added.
It also emphasised that food safety is a joint responsibility, and that food operators must play their part by adhering to good food hygiene and preparation practices.
At the same time , the agency also encouraged members of the public who have concerns about food safety practices by food operators to make a report via SFA's online feedback form .

社交媒体上流传的视频显示，9 月 21 日，一只乌鸦栖息在 Koufu's Pioneer Mall 门店外的一个塑料箱上，啄食一个似乎装满了生肉的塑料袋。
乌鸦周围有好几个装满新鲜农产品的箱子，至少还有一个桶里装着一袋生肉。
美食广场的一名员工告诉《新明日报》，这些食材属于他的摊位，目击事件的人当天就向他报告了此事。
他立即将肉扔掉，并告诉《新明日报》，供应商一定是前一天晚上送来食材后忘记盖篮子了。
针对AsiaOne的询问，新加坡足协表示正在调查此事。
“作为调查和收集证据的一部分，新加坡食品局可能会联系反馈提供者了解更多详情，如果获得足够的证据，将毫不犹豫地采取执法行动，”该机构补充道。
报告还强调，食品安全是每个人的共同责任，食品经营者必须遵守良好的食品卫生和制备规范，尽到自己的责任。
与此同时，该机构还鼓励对食品经营者的食品安全做法有疑虑的公众通过新加坡食品局的在线反馈表进行举报。
