As of 9 am today, six areas in Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) levels, with the highest readings in four regions of Johor: Kota Tinggi (165), Pasir Gudang (163), Pengerang (162), and Larkin (156).
In Sarawak, Serian and Sri Aman reported API levels of 152 and 128, respectively.
Meanwhile, 52 areas reported moderate air quality, and nine areas had good air quality, according to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS).
The API system categorizes air quality based on readings, with values above 100 considered unhealthy.
