On Sept 25, the 36-year-old was sentenced to two years, ten months, and five weeks' jail, and two strokes of the cane after pleading guilty to four of nine charges, reported Shin Min Daily News.
Citing court documents, the Chinese paper said Mamun committed the rash act after drinking with friends at Lorong 22 Geylang in the morning of Jan 27, 2024.
At 6.15am that day, Mamun hailed a taxi and boarded the vehicle with a beer bottle in hand.
Using the bottle, the man smashed the rear window just as the taxi reached Kallang Road.
The cabby stopped the car at a bus stop and alighted to find both rear windows completely shattered. He asked Mamun, who had also exited the cab, what happened.
Instead, Mamun started striking the taxi's windscreen with the bottle. When the bottle broke, Mamun continued punching the laminated glass with his fists, reported Shin Min.
Mamun then fell asleep by the roadside. He was arrested after the cabby called the police.
The man reportedly did not pay any compensation for the taxi's $2,197 repair cost.
Mamun was on police bail when he was involved in another assault and extortion case, according to Shin Min.
On Feb 12, 2024, at the underpass of Merdeka Bridge, Mamun and his accomplices falsely accused a man of stealing an electric scooter and asked the victim for $1,000.
When the victim refused, he was beaten by the group. The victim eventually gave them $50 cash, his bank card, and his phone.
In February this year, Mamun stole a $650 bicycle belonging to content creator Royal Pek, reported Shin Min.
The bicycle was eventually recovered, but its handlebars and tyre had been modified using parts from other stolen bicycles.

据《新明日报》报道，马蒙并没有继续用瓶子砸出租车的挡风玻璃，而是用瓶子砸碎后，继续用拳头猛击玻璃。
马蒙随后在路边睡着了。出租车司机报警后，他被逮捕了。
据报道，该男子没有支付出租车 2197 美元的维修费用。

2024年2月12日，在默迪卡桥地下通道，马蒙和他的同伙诬告一名男子偷窃电动滑板车，并向受害者索要1000美元。
