Wan Junaidi, Hajiji extend condolences to Dr Mahathir over Dr Hasmah’s death

Leaders in Sabah and Sarawak extended condolences to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad following the death of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.

Sarawak Governor and his wife praised her contributions to medicine, particularly maternal and child healthcare.

Sabah's Chief Minister described her as a respected figure whose contributions will continue to inspire Malaysians.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — Leaders in Sabah and Sarawak have extended their condolences to former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family following the death of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, today.

In Kuching, Sarawak Governor Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, paid tribute to Tun Dr Siti Hasmah’s contributions to medicine and public health.

In a Facebook post, they said her contributions, particularly to maternal and child healthcare and rural communities, would continue to be remembered.

“We also extend our condolences to former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, their children and the entire family, and pray that they are given strength and fortitude in facing this loss,” they said.

In Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor described Tun Dr Siti Hasmah’s death as a profound loss felt not only by Dr Mahathir and their family but by Malaysians across the country.

“She was a highly respected figure who inspired Malaysians through her service, contributions and dedication to the country,” he said in a statement today.

Hajiji expressed hope that her contributions and service would continue to be remembered and inspire future generations.

He also prayed that Allah would bestow His mercy upon her soul, forgive her shortcomings and place her among the righteous.

Tun Dr Siti Hasmah died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) this morning at the age of 100. She is survived by her husband and seven children. — Bernama

“她是一位备受尊敬的人物，她通过对国家的服务、贡献和奉献精神激励了马来西亚人民，”他今天在一份声明中说。

哈吉吉表示，她希望自己的贡献和服务能够继续被人们铭记，并激励后代。

他还祈祷真主怜悯她的灵魂，宽恕她的过错，并将她列入义人之列。
