STSPMF beneficiaries get sneak peek of Marina Square’s new Sesame Street exhibition

Want to visit Sesame Street? Head to Marina Square.

A total of 15 beneficiaries from The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF), accompanied by two teachers from Lianhua Primary School, had a sneak peek at Marina Square’s new Sesame Street exhibition on Sept 28, ahead of its public opening on Oct 1.

Presented by Marina Square Singapore in collaboration with COEXIST Culture and Sesame Street, Sesame Street Magical Art World Chapter 2 follows the first chapter, held in June.

It features a new group of artists from around the world, each reimagining the characters in their distinctive visual styles and creative techniques.

The pupils, aged nine to 11 and in Primary 3 to 5, spread out across the multisensory exhibition, which occupies three units on the mall’s level three.

They danced, drew and laughed as they explored a combination of contemporary artwork, sensory experiences, interactive activities and playful installations while completing an activity booklet. Those who finished it received a limited-edition sticker featuring artwork from the participating artists.

Primary 5 pupil Sng Yu Ling Dayna, 11 , said, “It’s very fun and interesting, especially the doodle part. I can draw, erase or do whatever I want on the board.”

The exhibition runs from Oct 1 to Dec 31, followed by Chapter 3 from Jan 8 to March 21 at the same venue. Shoppers can redeem admission passes with a minimum spend .

Started by The Straits Times in 2000, STSPMF provides pocket money to children from low-income families to help them through school.

9月28日，来自《海峡时报》学生零花钱基金（STSPMF）的15名受益学生，在莲花小学两位老师的陪同下，提前参观了滨海广场新开设的芝麻街展览，该展览将于10月1日正式向公众开放。

由新加坡滨海广场与 COEXIST Culture 和芝麻街联合呈现的芝麻街魔法艺术世界第二章，是继 6 月份举办的第一章之后的又一力作。

它汇集了来自世界各地的一批新艺术家，每位艺术家都用自己独特的视觉风格和创作技巧重新诠释了这些角色。

这些年龄在 9 至 11 岁（小学 3 至 5 年级）的学生分散在位于商场三楼三个单元的多感官展览中。

他们载歌载舞、绘画嬉笑，探索当代艺术作品、感官体验、互动活动和趣味装置，同时完成一本活动手册。完成手册的人会获得一张限量版贴纸，上面印有参与艺术家的作品。

小学五年级学生宋玉玲（11岁）说：“这很有趣，尤其是涂鸦部分。我可以在黑板上画画、擦掉或者做任何我想做的事情。”

展览将于10月1日至12月31日举行，随后第三章将于1月8日至3月21日在同一地点举行。购物者消费满一定金额即可兑换入场券。

STSPMF 由《海峡时报》于 2000 年创办，旨在为低收入家庭的儿童提供零用钱，帮助他们完成学业。
