Teen and friend stranded on parapet after trying to enter Yishun flat through window

Two teens found themselves stranded on the parapet after attempting to enter a flat in Yishun through the window on Monday (Sept 28).

A 15-year-old boy told Shin Min Daily News that his 13-year-old brother and his friend were rescued from the parapet.

According to him, the pair were unable to enter their home after the electronic door lock ran out of power.

They then tried to enter the flat through a window accessible from the staircase, but ended up getting trapped between the floors.

"When we were notified about the incident and rushed home, we saw the police talking to them downstairs. Neither of them was hurt," the 15-year-old said.

His younger brother's friend later returned home on his own.

The family has since recharged the electronic door lock's battery.

Responding to AsiaOne's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they received a call for assistance at Block 333A Yishun Street 31 at about 12.50pm on Monday.

Upon SCDF's arrival, two persons were seen on a parapet between the second and third floors.

SCDF firefighters brought the pair to safety using a ladder. There were no reported injuries.

Photos provided to Shin Min Daily News show several SCDF personnel and police officers at the scene, where a ladder had been set up against the HDB block.

One SCDF officer can be seen climbing the ladder to reach the boy.

周一（9月28日），两名青少年试图从窗户进入义顺的一间公寓，结果被困在了公寓的栏杆上。

一名 15 岁男孩告诉《新明日报》，他 13 岁的弟弟和他的朋友从女儿墙上获救了。

据他所说，由于电子门锁没电，两人无法进入家中。

他们随后试图从楼梯间的一扇窗户进入公寓，结果却被困在了楼层之间。

“当我们接到事件通知并赶回家时，我们看到警察正在楼下和他们交谈。他们俩都没有受伤，”这位15岁的少年说道。

他弟弟的朋友后来独自回家了。

之后，这家人给电子门锁的电池重新充了电。

针对 AsiaOne 的询问，新加坡民防部队表示，他们于周一下午 12 点 50 分左右接到求助电话，称义顺 31 街 333A 座发生紧急情况。

新加坡民防部队到达现场后，发现有两人在二楼和三楼之间的栏杆上。

新加坡民防部队消防员使用梯子将两人救出。据报道，无人受伤。

《新明日报》获得的照片显示，现场有多名新加坡民防部队人员和警察，一架梯子已经架在组屋旁边。

可以看到一名新加坡民防部队队员爬上梯子去救那个男孩。
