A Grab delivery partner went online to complain about a job which entailed disposing a customer's rubbish bags.

He was purportedly paid $4.

The upset driver took to Facebook page Complaint Singapore on Sept 25, without revealing his identity, to rant about the job he was asked to do.

He added that he did not cancel the order as it would affect his cancellation rating.

"Grab is too much. Allocate me a job to dispose of rubbish for the customer whereby I'm a food delivery rider. Is this allowed?" he asked.

Screengrabs accompanying the post show a GrabExpress order with the same pick-up and drop-off point at Joo Seng Road, with a note saying: "Remove (throw) all the bags at doorstep to downstairs rubbish chute for disposal. (Many bulky bags)."

More pictures show four large waste bags piled outside a unit, stacked inside a large four-wheeler garbage bin.

Grab, meanwhile, stepped in and reminded customers that its GrabExpress service is strictly for the door-to-door transportation of documents, parcels and goods.

It told AsiaOne it is aware of a recent incident involving a GrabExpress booking for household waste disposal.

"Waste management usually requires specific safety protocols, handling procedures, and licences that fall outside the scope of our courier service," a spokesperson added.

"We kindly request our users to use Grab services strictly for their intended purposes."

The spokesperson said delivery partners will not be penalised for declining any non-compliant requests, adding that users or delivery partners are encouraged to report any service misuse via the in-app Help Centre so that Grab can investigate and support accordingly.
