President Donald Trump on Friday lashed out at New York Attorney General Letitia James after she was named special prosecutor in the Cornell University rape case, though he appeared unfamiliar with the case itself.

Jane Doe's attorney Thomas Giuffra said his client is "not doing well" and responded to the latest in the alleged Cornell gang rape case.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said at a news conference today that she "will not allow anyone to sweep this case under the rug," announcing she is appointing Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor over gang rape allegations at Cornell University's Chi Phi fraternity house in 2024. James said it is now "an active criminal investigation" and prosecutions will be pursued "if warranted."
