In Semporna, sustainable tourism is the dream

Two pairs of Bajau Laut children decked in their colourful traditional attire are dancing on a temporary pontoon platform on a small island in Semporna, Sabah.

This is in Pulau Mantabuan, about 30 minutes from town via speedboat, and one of eight islands within the state’s protected Tun Sakaran Marine Park. It is also one of the most popular stops for tourists doing an island hopping tour package in Semporna.
