'You like?' Man melts hearts with free haircuts for 18-month-old twins with cerebral palsy

Aidan James Loo, known for giving free haircuts to those in need across Singapore, touched the lives of another family when he gave a nice trim to a pair of twins who have cerebral palsy.

In a TikTok video posted by Loo on Friday (Oct 2), Irra, the mother of the twins, is seen welcoming Loo into her home.

She tells Loo about how her 18-month-old sons cannot sit upright on their own because of their condition.

Cerebral palsy is a lifelong neurological disorder that affects movement, muscle tone and posture due to abnormal or damaged brain development.

"Your first haircut," Irra tells her son, as she prepares for the haircut with a hairdressing cape before putting her son on her lap.

The infant immediately begins to cry and she chuckles in response.

In turn, Loo attempts to distract the baby by spraying water in the air, adding that it usually works.

"You like?" he asks the infant who remains silent before the haircut. However, the toddler can be seen bawling during the haircut in another snippet.

As Loo moved on to cut the hair of Irra's other kid, he began asking her about she stayed so strong while raising her twins.

"Cause I'm a mother," she replied. "We have to be strong."

During the haircut, he asked her to share advice for parents who have just learnt that their kids have special needs.

"They have to not be in denial," said Irra.

She shared how she always questions herself: "If I didn't bring them into this world, they would have been spared from all this rehab."

But she added how she found in her faith and community.

"I think this is something God wants me to go through. When things get really hard, always find your people," she said.

Once the haircut was done, the babies were showered and brought out in a change of clothes.

Loo and his team could be seen playing with the boys and bidding them farewell before leaving.

"So beautiful ah," said Loo as they left the house.

The video has garnered over 312,000 views and almost 40,000 likes and over 200 comments as at Oct 5.

Many netizens shared how they were touched by the interaction, many of whom resonated with Irra's story as parents of children with special needs or those with family members who have cerebral palsy.

One netizen, who has a daughter with autism, said how she felt ashamed watching how Irra handles raising her sons.

"I keep asking [myself] why I have to face such hardship but looking at her situation, I really cannot lift my head up and face her," wrote the netizen.

Another TikTok user commented: "I couldn't control my tears watching this."

The user said that they had just lost their brother who had cerebral palsy and was deeply moved by the video.

Many praised Irra for her strength and sent their well wishes while commending Loo for his service.

"The world needs more heroes like you. Truly an inspiration," one comment read.

Loo is no stranger to lending a hand, having given several free haircuts to people from all walks of life.

He has posted various videos posted to his TikTok account showing him offering to cut the hair of migrant workers, the elderly and even kids at student care.

He also uploads these videos to Instagram under an account named Francesco's Barber Club, which describes itself as a social service.
