The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting several regions in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Sarawak, and Sabah, valid until 4 PM today.

Specific locations in these regions, including Langkawi, Kota Setar, Mukah, and Kota Kinabalu, are particularly at risk.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Sarawak and Sabah until 4pm today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the warning covered Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Yan, Kota Setar and Kuala Muda in Kedah, as well as Kerian in Perak, while the whole of Penang and Perlis were affected.

In Sarawak, the areas involved are Matu, Dalat and Mukah in Mukah; Tatau and Bintulu in Bintulu; Subis, Miri and Marudi in Miri; Lundu in Kuching; and Limbang.

In Sabah, the affected areas are Tambunan, Membakut, Keningau and Beaufort in the Interior; Ranau, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Papar and Kota Belud on the West Coast; Kalabakan, Tawau and Lahad Datu in Tawau; and Kota Marudu in Kudat. — Bernama
