Trump says if Fed doesn't cut rates, he'll stop trading with some nations

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday said that unless the Federal Reserve cuts interest rates, he would stop trading with countries with which the United States has a deficit.

"High interest rates put the U.S.A. at a very unfair disadvantage, and I won't allow that to happen!" said Trump, who has repeatedly demanded that the Fed cut rates.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday reported stronger-than-expected job creation in August, prompting traders to boost bets on a hike later this month.

"We should have the LOWEST RATE of any country in the World ... LOWER THE RATE OR I’LL STOP TRADING WITH COUNTRIES WITH WHICH WE HAVE A DEFICIT," Trump said in a social media post.

华盛顿——美国总统唐纳德·特朗普周五表示，除非美联储降低利率，否则他将停止与美国存在贸易逆差的国家进行贸易。

“高利率使美国处于非常不公平的劣势，我绝不会允许这种情况发生！”特朗普说道，他曾多次要求美联储降息。

美国劳工统计局周五公布的数据显示，8月份就业增长强于预期，促使交易员加大对本月晚些时候加薪的押注。

“我们应该拥有世界上最低的税率……降低税率，否则我将停止与存在贸易逆差的国家进行贸易，”特朗普在社交媒体上发帖说。
