Two 16-year-old boys are set to be charged with murder in connection with the death of a 14-year-old boy at a sports school in Kuala Pilah last month.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad confirmed that the suspects will appear at the Kuala Pilah Magistrate's Court and will face charges under Section 302 of the Penal Code, pertaining to murder with common intent.

The investigation follows the victim's death on September 25, after he was found unconscious at the school hostel.

The initial investigation led to the arrest of the two teens, both seniors at the school.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said that the investigation papers had been referred to the state prosecution office.

“Both suspects will be brought to the Kuala Pilah Magistrate’s Court at 9.30am tomorrow,” he was quoted as saying.

He said the prosecution had instructed that both suspects be charged with murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34, which deals with acts done by several people with a common intention.

According to media reports at the time, the 14-year-old was found unconscious at the school hostel at about 8pm on September 25.

He was taken to Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Najihah in Kuala Pilah, where he was pronounced dead.

His body was then sent to the forensic medicine department at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar in Seremban for a post-mortem.

Police subsequently detained two 16-year-old boys, who are seniors of the victim, to assist investigations and classified the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Alzafny previously said the remand of the first suspect is extended until tomorrow, while the second suspect’s remand is extended until October 9.
