Covid-19 vaccination will be added to Singapore’s national childhood and adult immunisation schedules from Oct 12, with updated vaccines to be rolled out at more than 600 GP clinics, all polyclinics and mobile vaccination sites.

The move is aimed at keeping Covid-19 vaccination accessible and affordable as the virus continues to circulate and pose a risk of severe disease, particularly among older and medically vulnerable people, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Wednesday (Oct 7).

Those recommended to receive the vaccine include people aged 60 and above, medically vulnerable individuals aged six months and above, and residents of aged care facilities.

Healthcare workers and people living or working with medically vulnerable individuals are also encouraged to get vaccinated to help protect those around them.

Those aged six months and above who wish to receive the Covid-19 vaccine may continue to do so, MOH said.

Updated XFG Moderna/Spikevax and XFG Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccines, which have been approved by the Health Sciences Authority, will be available from Oct 12.

The Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccine will be available for those aged 12 and above from Oct 12, while Moderna/Spikevax will be available for those aged six months and above.

Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty will be available for children aged six months to 11 years from Nov 2.

The vaccination will continue to be fully subsidised for Singapore citizens, permanent residents, long-term pass holders and certain short-term pass holders at participating CHAS GP clinics, polyclinics and mobile vaccination team sites, until further review.

For those receiving a Covid-19 vaccine for the first time, MOH recommends two doses eight weeks apart for children aged six months to four years, and one dose for those aged five and above.

Those aged six months and above who have previously been vaccinated should receive an additional dose around one year, and at least five months, after their last dose.

Appointments at participating GP clinics can be made directly with the clinics, while polyclinic appointments can be booked through HealthHub.

MOH said mobile vaccination teams will continue to be deployed across the island, with the latest schedule available online.
