In Melaka, police have detained four Myanmar nationals, including the mother of the victim, in connection with the death of a one-year-old boy who suffered alleged neglect and physical injuries.

The arrests, involving two men and two women aged between 20 and 50, occurred at two separate locations.

The incident came to light after a report from a doctor at Melaka Hospital, with a subsequent post-mortem revealing physical injuries as the cause of death, contrary to the initial claim of a seizure.

The suspects are being held for six days to aid investigations under the Child Act 2001.
