奇瑞马来西亚再次召回Omoda 5,原因是后桥存在问题:如何检查您的车辆是否受影响

Malaysia has initiated a recall for the pre-facelift version of the Omoda 5 SUV due to a rear axle issue, marking the second such recall after the initial one in 2024.

Chery Malaysia made the recall announcement following the Road Transport Department's temporary suspension of Vehicle Type Approval for the model after an incident in Johor.

Affected vehicles will undergo thorough inspections and necessary repairs at no charge.

The recall applies exclusively to the older Omoda 5 model, as the new Chery 05 and Omoda E5 models feature upgraded rear suspension systems.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 — Malaysia has begun the recall process for the pre-facelift (FL) version of Omoda 5. While this is the 2nd major recall announcement for the SUV (the 1st recall happened in 2024), the reason is the same: Omoda 5’s rear axle.

The recall announcement was published on Chery Malaysia’s social media platforms several hours after the Road Transport Department (JPJ) said that it has temporarily suspended Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) for the Omoda 5 following a recent incident in Johor where the SUV’s rear axle detached while on the move.

JPJ also said that it has instructed Chery to identify and recall all units that are potentially at risk. Meanwhile, Chery said that all affected vehicles will receive comprehensive inspections, and any required follow-up actions, including component replacements, will be free of charge.

Omoda 5 was originally launched in July 2023 but has since been replaced by a facelifted model called Chery 05 last September. Chery 05 is equipped with a multi-link rear suspension system as opposed to the torsion beam setup on the Omoda 5.

Similarly, the fully electric Omoda E5 also comes with multi-link suspension on its rear. All three Chery models are locally assembled (CKD) at Inokom’s plant in Kulim, Kedah.

How to check if your Chery Omoda 5 is affected by the recall

To check if your Omoda 5 is affected, you can visit Chery’s Product Update page and enter the VIN. If your Omoda 5 is part of the recall campaign, you can contact them for further arrangements.
