Bartley Road accident: Overturned van crashes through road divider

A 50-year-old male van driver was taken to the hospital after an accident on Bartley Road towards Braddell Road that led to a row of road divider fencing being upended.

The incident happened at about 5.35am on Monday (Oct 12).

A video of the incident seen by AsiaOne shows the van lying on its right side, against the flow of traffic.

Further ahead, a section of road divider fencing is seen uprooted and mangled.

A Traffic Police officer is seen using his motorcycle to regulate traffic around the incident area.

In separate statements to AsiaOne, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force stated that the van driver was taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The police added that the van is believed to have skidded and that the driver is assisting with ongoing investigations.

再往前走，可以看到一段道路隔离带被连根拔起，损毁严重。

一名交警骑着摩托车在事故现场附近疏导交通。

警方和新加坡民防部队分别向AsiaOne发表声明称，面包车司机被送往陈笃生医院时意识清醒。

警方补充说，据信这辆货车发生了侧滑，司机正在协助进行调查。
