They had found a dockyard in Cox’s Bazar with the kind of craftsmen they needed and access to the timber required to build their 58-foot catamaran, the Island Girl. This would be their home, and they planned to sail the seas aboard it.
But the Island Girl was shipwrecked on August 25, resulting in a tragedy. While three were rescued, one Pudney child drowned. His body was recovered days later.
