U Mobile's new offering is designed for a generation of gamers who know that having the right PC or console is only part of the equation.

For someone immersed in an online game, a split-second delay can be the difference between making the right move and watching an opponent get there first.

That delay is known as latency, which simply refers to the time it takes for data to travel between a device and the game server, and back.

This is why a fast internet connection alone does not necessarily guarantee a responsive gaming experience.

ULTRA Home 5G Pro addresses both speed and responsiveness by combining U Mobile's ULTRA5G network with three Malaysia-first technologies designed for next-generation gaming and high-performance connectivity.

Lauded as Malaysia's first, they are the 8×8 5G-A Broadband, AI-Powered Game Turbo and Ultra-Performance Wi-Fi 7 5G-A Router.

At the heart of the service is 8×8 MIMO 5G-A Broadband.

MIMO, or Multiple Input, Multiple Output, is a technology that uses multiple antennas to send and receive several streams of data simultaneously.

This allows the router to handle more data streams at the same time than conventional 4×4 MIMO technology.

U Mobile says the 8×8 5G-A technology can deliver speeds of up to two times faster, although actual speeds will vary depending on factors such as 5G coverage, signal strength, network traffic, router placement and the devices connected to it.

That additional capacity becomes particularly relevant when gaming is taking place alongside everything else happening within a household.

Someone could be playing an online game while another is streaming high-definition content, attending a video call or working on a laptop, with several smart devices also connected to the same network.

In this instance, the broadband connection is now coping with more than just the gaming device, and this is where U Mobile's second feature comes in.

Known as AI-Powered Game Turbo, it is designed to identify gaming traffic and prioritise it separately from general data traffic.

Rather than making every application faster, the technology is designed to give supported gaming traffic priority through the ULTRA5G network, helping reduce latency and make online gameplay more responsive.

Designed for next-generation gaming, U Mobile’s ULTRA Home 5G Pro offers up to twice the speeds with AI-powered Game Turbo, helping gamers stay connected and responsive even as other household members stream and download content.

For someone playing a competitive online game, this means the network is designed to recognise that gaming data needs a quick response.

This feature supports a growing range of PC, console and mobile games, including titles such as Fortnite, Grand Theft Auto V, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, League of Legends and Dota 2.

However, gaming performance can still be affected by factors such as 5G coverage, signal strength, the connected device, network conditions and the location of the game server.

Even if the broadband connection itself is fast, Wi-Fi performance can vary from room to room, particularly in larger spaces or when many devices are connected at the same time.

Thus, here is where the third feature addresses this challenge.

ULTRA Home 5G Pro comes with U Mobile's Ultra-Performance Wi-Fi 7 5G-A Router, designed to provide high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across larger spaces and support multiple connected devices simultaneously.

Wi-Fi 7 is the latest generation of Wi-Fi technology, while Multi-Link Operation, commonly known as MLO, allows compatible devices to use multiple wireless connections simultaneously.

In practical terms, it is designed to help maintain a more responsive and stable connection when several devices are using the network at once.

For a gamer, the benefit is that the gaming setup does not necessarily have to operate in isolation.

A console in the living room, a gaming PC in another room, a television streaming content and several smartphones can all share the same connection.

That makes ULTRA Home 5G Pro relevant not just to gamers, but to digitally connected households where several people and devices are online at the same time.

There is also a practical difference in how the service gets connected, and ULTRA Home 5G Pro does not require a fixed fibre installation.

Instead, the service uses a SIM card and a supplied 5G router to provide a plug-and-play solution.

From gaming and streaming to work and video calls, different online activities can happen under one roof, placing different demands on the home connection.

The router can also be moved to another room, although U Mobile recommends placing it near a window or an area where strong 5G signal reception can be captured for the best experience.

That flexibility can be useful for households that want a high-speed broadband option without the installation process associated with a fixed fibre connection.

For gamers, however, the attraction ultimately comes down to what happens when the match begins, despite having a powerful graphics card, a monitor with a high refresh rate, or a controller or mouse designed for competitive play.

All that hardware still depends on the connection carrying every command to and from the game server.

The combination of 8×8 5G-A Broadband, ULTRA Home 5G Pro and AI-Powered Game Turbo with Wi-Fi 7 is designed to address latency from several angles, including network speeds, gaming traffic prioritisation and connectivity across multiple devices in the household.

U Mobile's network performance has also earned recognition from independent network intelligence providers Ookla and Opensignal. At the 2026 Ookla Speedtest Awards, U Mobile was named Malaysia's Best Mobile Network and Fastest 5G Network.

Meanwhile, Opensignal's July 2026 Malaysia Mobile Network Experience Report recognised U Mobile across several categories, including Consistent Quality, Download Speed Experience, 5G Download Speed, Upload Speed Experience and 5G Availability, alongside joint wins for Reliability Experience and 5G Video Experience.

ULTRA Home 5G Pro is available at RM98 per month in West Malaysia, subject to network coverage and service availability and excluding applicable taxes. The plan comes with a 2,000GB high-speed data quota and a 24-month contract.
