A woman died following a hit-and-run accident on Friday (Oct 16) morning along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) towards Changi Airport.

According to multiple videos circulating online, the accident happened in the centre lane.

The clips show a police car and traffic police motorbike parked a short distance away from a blue police tent. Several police officers were at the scene.

In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to a hit-and-run accident involving a minibus and a pedestrian along PIE towards Changi Airport at about 7.10am.

A 77-year-old female pedestrian was pronounced dead at scene by a SCDF paramedic.
