Ramanan highlighted the significant rise in training grant applications from the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) as an indication of successful reforms to improve system efficiency and governance.

In Melaka alone, applications are nearing 7,000, reflecting a positive response to these reforms.

These changes aim to enhance transparency and order, despite the complexities of implementation.

Additionally, HRD Corp is actively monitoring its funded training classes to ensure they meet the needs of participants, encouraging widespread participation for skill development and career advancement.

ALOR GAJAH, Oct 18 — The surge in Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) training grant applications reflects the positive impact of measures taken to streamline its implementation system, said Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.

He said the reforms have not only facilitated smoother processes but also strengthened organisational governance and transparency, although the transition required time and effort to execute properly.

“In Melaka alone, applications are nearing the 7,000 mark. This shows that more people are seizing the opportunity and demonstrates that meaningful changes are taking place.

“It is not easy to overhaul a system to make it more orderly, transparent, and aligned with good governance. It takes considerable time, and we thank the entire HRD Corp team for their dedication to carrying out these improvements,” he told reporters after attending the HRD Corp ‘Pocket Talk’ Roadshow: From Policy to the People here today.

Also present was HRD Corp chief executive officer Datuk Shamir Aziz.

Meanwhile, Ramanan said HRD Corp officers will monitor every training class funded through the agency’s existing levy, either on-site or virtually, to ensure courses are genuinely conducted and benefit the target groups.

“I encourage everyone to seize this opportunity, whether they are workers seeking to upskill, graduates looking for employment, or individuals wanting to build new careers,” he said. — Bernama
