Protest Movement’s Announcement set for Today

He stated that this press conference stemmed from concerns about “grey” foreign entities, including Chinese, Jewish, Burmese, Indian, and Russian capital, which use nominees to acquire land, conduct illegal businesses, and disregard Thai law, while the government neglects its duty to protect the nation.

Ahead of the planned event the group who are looking to hold the protest movement held a dinner gathering at a restaurant named ‘ร้านครัวกรุงเทพ’

There were various meetings after this event as well and it seems many of the issues that the ultra conservative group wants has difference between the various members, to a point that Sondhi has announced that he would likely make the 1 st announcement by himself.

1 st anniversary of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that helped Anutin become Prime Minister

Parit Wacharasindhu, party list MP and deputy leader of the People’s Party, has publicly acknowledged his fault on the one-year anniversary of the vote for Anutin Charnvirakul to become the Prime Minister, stating that the party has already been penalized by the public through the recent election.

Speaking at the People’s Party headquarters, Parit responded to comments by former Red Leader core member Nattawut Saikuar regarding the memorandum of agreement between the People’s Party and the Bhumjai Thai Party, agreeing that the anniversary marks a mistaken decision that requires responsibility.

Nattawut Saikur published a one-year commemorative record of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the People’s Party and the Bhumjai Thai Party. Nattawut noted that the deal—where the top-ranked People’s Party with 143 seats voted to establish a Bhumjai Thai-led government as the third-ranked party with 71 seats without joining the cabinet—occurs only once in a century.

Parit maintained that the People’s Party does not deny the negative impacts resulting from that decision and intends to use his remaining three years and over as an MP to address the problems stemming from that past vote.

Anutin marks one year of MOA, blames the People’s Party for broken agreements and added conditions

Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and leader of the Bhumjai Thai Party, expressed surprise upon realizing that it has been one year since the MOA agreement was established between the Bhumjai Thai Party and the People’s Party, remarking that time has passed very quickly.

Addressing claims by the People’s Party that the agreement was a mistake, Anutin rejected the notion that the partnership was flawed, stating that both parties cooperated at the time to find a way forward for the country. He emphasized that the Bhumjai Thai Party fulfilled the primary objective of supporting constitutional amendments.

Anutin stated that the People’s Party repeatedly added conditions and attempted to exert pressure beyond the five-point MOA framework by shifting proposed dissolution dates and demanding that the Bhumjai Thai Party control the Senate to remove senatorial powers. He suggested reviewing past statements by the leader of the People’s Party to show that the decision to dissolve parliament followed their direct requests and ultimatums.

Regarding comments from Parit Wacharasindhu, list MP and deputy leader of the People’s Party, who claimed the MOA signing led to election losses, Anutin questioned his involvement by noting that Parit was not part of the original negotiations and picture when the agreement was made.

Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and leader of the Bhumjai Thai Party firmly rejected the People’s Party’s claims linking him to Sub-committee No. 36 which ruled that the Senate election was legitimate of an advanced political leadership program, dismissing any connection. He urged People’s Party MP Parit Wacharasindhu to resolve his dispute with Minister Naphinthorn Srisanpang regarding who is telling the truth, advising him not to act like a “sore loser” and to demonstrate maturity as a lawmaker.

Anutin emphasized that Bhumjai Thai Party members were strictly banned from interfering in the July 2024 Senate election, noting that his administration—taking office long after the Senate election—had zero incentive to intervene. He asserted that Bhumjai Thai grew from 50 to 193 seats solely through public service and results rather than reliance on the Senate, concluding that the timing and context of the Senate election and his government “are like Rama IV and Sukhumvit Roads—they will never intersect.”

He also addressed opposition plans to use the 2027 budget bill debate as a rehearsal for a no-confidence censure. The budget involves all government agencies, emphasizing that all MPs have the right to inquire and express opinions, while the parliamentary committee is responsible for providing clarifications.

Meanwhile People’s Party MP Parit Wacharasindhu posted a message on his personal Facebook page stating that Anutin said the government and the Senate corruption scandal are unrelated and unconnected, likening it to Rama IV Road and Sukhumvit Road, which will never meet. He used a good analogy because no matter what the Prime Minister says, the evidence is clear. Besides the numerous side streets connecting Rama IV Road and Sukhumvit Road along its entire length, Rama IV Road and Sukhumvit Road ultimately only meet at Phra Khanong intersection.

As for the planned rally by iLaw’s on September 13, Parit said that the People’s Party will continue with press conferences and various forums. He also expressed hope that the Election Commission’s report will be debated on September 10, and that the government will not attempt to interrupt or delay the process with any other issues.

Outside of parliament, the Committee on Judicial Affairs and Independent Organizations will hold a seminar on September 12 under the theme of “Monitoring the Role of Independent Organizations in Thailand’s Political Crisis.”

Today the House of Representatives will hold a special session, from September 7–9, to consider the second and third readings of the 3.78-trillion-baht fiscal budget bill for 2027. The scrutiny committee reduced the initial draft by 11.162 billion baht, reallocating 10.891 billion baht to core government agencies, 271 million baht to independent bodies and parliament, and 6.044 billion baht to the central emergency fund—raising its total to 699 billion baht for national security, disaster relief, and urgent state tasks.

The central fund section faces intense opposition from MPs, including Democrat Party’s Abhisit Vejjajiva and People’s Party’s Sirikanya Tansakun, who are pushing to slash a 12-billion-baht allocation for energy crisis mitigation on the grounds that it duplicates an existing 200-billion-baht loan meant for the energy transition.

Department of Business Development Reveals Foreign Juristic Person Land Ownership Data in Thailand

The Department of Business Development has released comprehensive data regarding land title deeds held by foreign juristic persons in Thailand. The figures outline the extent of land ownership across different categories of foreign shareholding structures.

According to the data, companies with 100 percent foreign shareholders account for a total of 3,450 entities, holding 10,029 title deeds covering an area of 103,591.40 rai. Japan leads this category with 872 entities holding 2,383 deeds across 24,100.29 rai.

Following Japan, China holds 842 entities with 1,971 deeds spanning 22,035.55 rai, while Singapore maintains 395 entities with 1,083 deeds covering 15,291 rai. Additional top foreign holders include Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Mauritius, the United States, Malaysia, and Germany.

In terms of geographical distribution for companies with 100 percent foreign shareholding, Rayong records the highest area with 32,078.62 rai, followed by Chonburi with 29,276.61 rai. Other notable locations include Prachinburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Samut Prakan.

Furthermore, companies with foreign shareholding between 49.01 percent and 99.99 percent comprise 1,311 entities holding 5,633 deeds over 59,077.06 rai. Meanwhile, businesses with foreign shareholding ranging from 0.01 percent to 49 percent represent 31,516 entities holding 287,176 deeds across a total area of 901,569.92 rai.

Thailand’s labor market is facing heightened vulnerability as businesses increasingly invoke Section 75 of the Labor Protection Act, which allows employers to temporarily suspend operations due to non-force majeure reasons while paying affected workers at least 50% of their wages. The Bank of Thailand expressed deep concern over this trend among hard-hit sectors facing intense competition, particularly automotive parts, apparel, rubber, and plastics.

In June 2026 alone, 44 establishments reported partial shutdowns—a 22.22% increase from the previous month—and 23 completely suspended operations, impacting 18,998 workers (a 58.08% month-on-month rise).

Suwat Urges Long-Term Economic Restructuring After Tens of Thousands Attend Merit-Making Event in Korat

Former Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop came out to say that the government needs to prioritize the development of grassroot economy after an estimated 15,000 people turned up to receive free rice and dry food provisions during a charity event.

Suwat who also serves as chairman of the annual “Sikow” charity and almsgiving tradition for 2026, held by the Luksian Sian Tueng Sawang Metta Thammasat Foundation in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Speaking at the event, Suwat stated that the massive turnout clearly reflects widespread economic hardship at the grassroots level. He noted that while low GDP growth, public debt, and household debt are frequently discussed, the event highlighted the genuine struggles faced by everyday citizens.

See Fah, the 90-year-old Thai restaurant brand is bringing its signature ‘Ratchawong Chicken Rice’ to the skies through a partnership with AirAsia. Third-generation executives Niththa (Ratchaiyabun) Nan-Khawang, Chief Executive Officer, and Korn Ratchaiyabun, Chief Operating Officer, are steering the legacy brand as it expands beyond its 14 physical restaurant branches into aviation catering and OEM services.

See Fah has maintained a longstanding partnership with AirAsia since the airline’s first flight, initially supplying sandwiches before expanding into popular items such as spicy holy basil minced pork rice, grilled chicken rice, and seasonal products. Fire at a Famous School in Bang Khun Thian Destroys Teachers Room and Exam Cabinets, Leaving One Injured

A fire broke out at a prominent school located on Kanchanaphisek Road in the Tha Kham subdistrict of Bang Khun Thian district, Bangkok. Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Ha-upla, an inspector of inquiry at Tha Kham Police Station, received the report and rushed to the scene alongside the Poh Teck Tung Foundation and water trucks from the Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department.

The incident occurred on the fourth floor of a four-story classroom building, where flames severely engulfed a teachers’ room. The affected area contained exam cabinets, teaching supplies, teachers’ bedding, and wardrobes, covering a total estimated damage area of 40 square meters. Firefighters spent approximately 30 minutes deploying water hoses to completely extinguish and control the blaze.

One person sustained injuries during the incident. Mr. Phachara, a 33-year-old physical education teacher, suffered from smoke inhalation while attempting to help put out the fire and was transported to Bang Khun Thian Geriatric Hospital for treatment.

Adison, a 35-year-old teacher who witnessed the event, stated that a colleague informed him about the fire on the first building. He opened the door to find flames spreading across the floor, prompting him and others to use fire extinguishers before fleeing downstairs as the fire quickly intensified due to heavy amounts of paper, wood, and student coursework.

Authorities are currently reviewing closed-circuit television footage and interviewing surrounding witnesses to compile the case file. The forensic police are scheduled to conduct a detailed on-site inspection to determine the exact cause of the fire.

Thai Meteorological Department Issues Final Warning for Heavy Rainfall and Flash Floods Through September 7

The Thai Meteorological Department has issued its tenth and final warning of the current weather event, cautioning residents across upper Thailand about heavy to very heavy rainfall set to persist through September 7, 2026.

Lawyer Sittra Biabungkerd has requested an Interior Ministry investigation into the Gun Jompalang Chuai Su Foundation over alleged procurement irregularities and its ties to Deputy Prime Minister Thammanat Prompao. Founded by social activist Guntouch “Gun Jompalang” Pongpaiboonwet, the foundation faced scrutiny over initial records excluding him from leadership and a clause directing remaining assets to Thammanat’s foundation upon dissolution.

Despite reporting 207 million baht in donations and 90 million baht remaining, the foundation denied transferring funds to Thammanat’s organization and agreed to amend its bylaws, while ministry officials confirmed a formal audit will proceed.

Meanwhile Guntouch said he would rather spend his time helping people than respond to lawyer Sittra Biabungkerd’s request for an investigation into his foundation’s finances.

Suan Dusit Poll on “Thais and Disaster Management” revealed that 84.29% of respondents nationwide are most concerned about floods, flash floods, and mudslides. A majority of 69.70% attribute the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters to climate change and global warming.

To prepare for disasters, 64.46% of respondents state they regularly follow news and official warning announcements. Meanwhile, 53.19% express low confidence in the government’s ability to handle potential disasters in Thailand, with 68.65% urging the government to prioritize addressing environmental issues and mitigating factors that intensify disaster severity.
