PORT DICKSON, Oct 22 — A final-year college student undergoing practical training at a hotel in Lukut was found dead behind an eatery here yesterday.

Port Dickson District Police Chief Supt Ahmad Afiq Mohd Adnan said the 21-year-old man was found at 6.05 am after police received an emergency call via the MERS 999 line from a member of the public.

He said preliminary investigations found that the victim had facial injuries and a broken arm, believed to have been sustained in a fall from a building.

“The post-mortem found that the cause of death was head and abdominal injuries resulting from a fall from a height.

“Investigations also found no criminal elements in the case,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Ahmad Afiq said the victim was believed to have been staying in a rented room in a three-storey building used as a hostel near where the body was found.

An inspection of the room found no signs of a break-in, and no valuables or personal documents were missing.

The victim’s body was taken to Port Dickson Hospital, and the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR).

Members of the public with information about the incident are urged to assist with the investigation.

They are also advised against speculation out of respect for the victim’s family. — Bernama
