A landslide occurred along Jalan Lojing-Gua Musang (FT185) in Kelantan, causing a 30-metre-long crack in the road surface.

The Kelantan Public Works Department (JKR) is actively monitoring the site, having installed warning signs to alert road users since damage affected the slope drainage system.

The road remains open, although no alternative route has been provided.

Gua Musang's police chief emphasized the importance of exercising caution, particularly during rain, and advised against proceeding if new cracks appear, as no casualties have been reported.

GUA MUSANG, Oct 22 — The Public Works Department (JKR) in Kelantan has confirmed a landslide along Jalan Lojing-Gua Musang (FT185), near Yayasan Albarakah here yesterday, which caused a 30-metre-long crack in the road surface.

Kelantan JKR director Nik Badlihisham Nik Ismail said the landslide at Section 84.15 involved an area stretching 20 metres in length and 30 metres in depth.

He said monitoring was being carried out at the site, while warning signs had been installed to alert road users to the danger.

“Damage was also detected to the slope drainage system.

“However, the road remains open to all vehicles, and no alternative route has been provided so far,” he told Bernama today.

Meanwhile, Gua Musang police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo said no casualties had been reported in the incident.

He advised motorists to observe warning signs and exercise caution when passing through the area, especially during rain, and not to proceed if cracks appeared on the road, as the ground might be unstable. — Bernama
