Sembawang hit-and-run: Police hunt for BMW driver who fled motorcycle crash

The police are looking for the driver of a black BMW saloon car after a hit-and-run in Sembawang on Wednesday (Oct 21).

The incident happened at about 8.25am on Admiralty Road East towards Yishun Avenue 8, in the vicinity of PSA Sembawang Wharves.

Dashcam footage of the accident shared with SG Road Vigilante and posted on its Facebook page shows the car straddling between the two rightmost lanes after the junction of Deptford Road and Admiralty Road East.

It is then seen rear-ending a motorcycle on the second lane, sending the motorcyclist and his pillion tumbling across to the rightmost lane.

Meanwhile, the car is seen driving on without stopping to render assistance.

In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force stated that the motorcyclist and his female pillion, both 27 years old, sustained minor injuries.

The duo refused to be taken to hospital.

The police added that efforts to trace the BMW car driver is underway and that investigations are ongoing.

事故发生时，行车记录仪拍摄的画面被分享给了 SG Road Vigilante，并发布在其 Facebook 页面上。画面显示，在 Deptford Road 和 Admiralty Road East 的交叉路口之后，这辆车横跨在最右侧的两条车道之间。

然后镜头显示，它在第二条车道上追尾了一辆摩托车，导致摩托车驾驶员和后座乘客翻滚到最右侧车道。

与此同时，人们看到这辆车继续行驶，没有停车提供帮助。

针对 AsiaOne 的询问，警方和新加坡民防部队表示，摩托车驾驶员及其女乘客（均为 27 岁）受了轻伤。

两人拒绝被送往医院。

警方补充说，目前正在努力追踪宝马车司机，调查仍在进行中。
