The day before Apple released its new foldable iPhone Duo, Adnan Mehta had already staked out his spot as the first walk-in customer at Singapore's Orchard Road flagship store.
The 36-year-old, who is from Mumbai, began queueing outside the store at 5.30am on Thursday (Oct 22) to secure the tag distributed to walk-in buyers, he told AsiaOne.
On launch day, Friday morning, the iPhone 16 user returned to Orchard Road and subsequently purchased two units in Star White — one for himself and one for his wife.
"At the time the iPhone 17 was launched, there was news about the fold feature coming up. So I was looking forward to getting [my hands on the fold phone]," he said, adding that he is excited about the screen functions.
Hundreds of people queued overnight at Apple Orchard Road before its doors officially opened at 8am on Friday when the iPhone Duo officially went on sale.
Prices for the new gadget, available in the colourways Night Sky and Star White, start at $3,099 for 256GB and go up to $4,899 for 2TB.
Vietnamese Apple fan Vu, 30, told AsiaOne he purchased three phones for his family.
"I got it for me, my wife and my mom. It was a secret, because [my wife's birthday] just happened on Oct 20," he revealed.
Vu had also flown to Singapore in September for the launch of the iPhone 18 series and said he will use both devices.
Resale listings for the iPhone Duo have also been put up on Carousell, with the asking price soaring above $5,000 for the 2TB model.
The Duo is passport-sized and is Apple's thinnest phone when fully opened, the tech giant said.
Apple had also earlier announced having limited iPhone Duo units available for walk-in customers .

这款新设备有夜空白和星空白两种配色可选，256GB 版本起价为 3,099 美元，2TB 版本最高售价为 4,899 美元。
30岁的越南苹果粉丝Vu告诉AsiaOne，他为家人购买了三部手机。
“我给自己、妻子和我妈妈都买了。这是个秘密，因为（我妻子的生日）正好是10月20日，”他透露道。
Vu 也曾在 9 月份飞往新加坡参加 iPhone 18 系列的发布会，并表示他会同时使用这两款设备。
iPhone Duo 的转售信息也已出现在 Carousell 上，其中 2TB 型号的要价飙升至 5000 美元以上。
苹果公司表示，Duo 手机大小与护照相当，完全展开后是苹果最薄的手机。
苹果公司此前也曾宣布，将向到店顾客限量发售 iPhone Duo。
