A female biker's predictions about which car plate numbers are linked to "dangerous" driving tendencies have left some netizens sceptical.

Sakya Tan said in a TikTok post on Friday (Oct 23) that, as a female biker, she tries to avoid drivers with certain licence plate numbers.

Tan promotes herself as an expert in Chinese metaphysics such as feng shui and numerology,

She said that drivers and riders are always rushing on Singapore's roads, leading to accidents and lives lost.

"We try to avoid such car plates that we view as risk," said Tan, adding that her predictions stemmed from a system about numbers derived from the knowledge of Chinese metaphysics.

She first cautioned against drivers with licence plate numbers 17, 71, 107, 701, 157 and 751.

"Drivers with such car plate numbers have a tendency to easily get into accidents with people," said Tan.

She added that these drivers tend to be more emotional and are more likely to get into conflicts with other drivers as well.

She also pointed out that drivers with licence plate numbers 12, 21, 102, 201, 152 and 251 tend to be "very focused" on getting to their destinations in a specific time.

"So in a way, they are very unfriendly drivers," explained Tan. "They might not give way [and] at times, make it feel like you are getting in their way."

She urged her viewers who are pedestrians, riders or drivers to look out for such car plate numbers on the road and observe whether they act in the manner she described.

Tan also advised that drivers with the car plate numbers mentioned in her video can reach out to her to find out how to reduce the risk of accident.

'Oh man, I promise to stay calm'

Her video has amassed over 12,000 views on TikTok, with many comments expressing their scepticism.

Some users shared how it is not feasible to completely avoid encountering cars with these license plate numbers.

Others also asked if they should go as far as avoiding bus services with these numbers, to which Tan replied in a comment that it is not necessary as it becomes impractical.

Another user questioned the logic behind her predictions: "Doesn't make sense at all! What about those car sharing? All different drivers."

One chimed in with how "Chinese metaphysics is a crazy way to explain fictional mumbo jumbo".

However, some comments took her warnings in good stride, with one user, who drives daily, saying they would take note of all these numbers and see if she was right.

A TikTok user with the car plate number 9171 joked: "Oh man, I promise to stay calm."

In a separate TikTok post on Oct 24, Tan responded to the comments she received.

"Thanks for all the comments. This is just a simple guide I use which works for me," wrote Tan, adding that there was no need to avoid these numbers to the extent of inconveniencing one's self or endangering their lives as well as others on the road.

"Stay safe wherever you are!" she concluded.
