KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged all candidates and party machinery to work hard to earn the people’s trust in the 16th Melaka state election.
In a Facebook post last night, Anwar, who is also the prime minister, said all instances of slander and racial incitement must be countered through tangible achievements and dedicated service to the people.
“Come, all Pakatan Harapan candidates and machinery uphold the trust placed in you for the Melaka state election through hard work.
“May our sincerity and determination enable us to make history in Melaka and drive reforms toward a future that is more just, prosperous, and dignified,” he said.
PH is fielding 21 candidates from its three component parties for the 16th Melaka state election, compared to 28 candidates in 2021.
The Election Commission (EC) has set November 14 as the polling day for the Melaka State Election, with candidate nominations scheduled for October 31 and early voting for November 10. — Bernama

昨晚，身为总理的安华在脸书上发帖称，所有诽谤和种族煽动行为都必须通过切实的成就和对人民的尽心服务来予以反击。
“来吧，所有希望联盟的候选人和竞选团队，用辛勤工作来不辜负大家对马六甲州选举的信任。”
他说：“愿我们的真诚和决心使我们能够在马六甲创造历史，推动改革，走向一个更加公正、繁荣和有尊严的未来。”
希望联盟（PH）将派出其三个组成党派的 21 名候选人参加第 16 届马六甲州选举，而 2021 年的候选人数为 28 人。
选举委员会已确定11月14日为马六甲州选举的投票日，候选人提名将于10月31日进行，提前投票将于11月10日开始。——马新社
