SEOUL, Oct. 28 (Yonhap) -- Daishin Securities, Mirae Asset Global Investments and crypto exchange Bithumb all reported data breaches involving customers Wednesday.

Of the firms that reported leaks, Daishin said personal information of 38,490 customers was hacked.

It said sensitive information, including names, e-mail addresses and mobile phone numbers, was found to have been leaked after the brokerage detected signs of unauthorized access by hackers last week.

The brokerage said it has been investigating the case with authorities and notified the customers of the leak.

Daishin said if the data breach causes damage, the brokerage will compensate them in accordance with law.

Meanwhile, some personal information of customers at Bithumb, was leaked by a cyber attack from an external party, according to an industry source.

Financial authorities have also begun an inspection into the data breach of Mirae Asset Global Investments. (END)
