BANGI, Oct 28 — Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir today graced the opening of the Tuanku Chancellor International Conference on Law 2026 (TCC 2026) here.

His Royal Highness, who is also the Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), arrived at 9.30am and was received by UKM Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Sufian Jusoh and UKM Board of Directors chairman Datuk Johan Idris.

Also present were Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz and Tunku Panglima Besar Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin.

The two-day conference, organised by the UKM Faculty of Law, began today and features 121 presenters from around the world.

TCC 2026 carries the theme “Rule of Law and Good Governance in Asean and Beyond”.

Meanwhile, Sufian, in his speech, said that TCC 2026 provides a platform to explore how legal principles can be strengthened in a region of growing importance, and how Malaysia can lead these conversations in South-east Asia.

“Under the theme ‘Rule of Law and Good Governance in Asean and Beyond’, this conference highlights the importance of the rule of law and good governance in building transparent, resilient and trusted institutions in both the public and private sectors.

“It also provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and explore how these principles can be upheld in a changing world,” he said. — Bernama
