KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) is deeply wary of the unity between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the upcoming Melaka state election, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man claimed.

He said the cooperation could deliver a major victory for the coalition, Sinar Harian reported today.

“God willing, with the strength we have and the combined machinery from across the country, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire PN leadership and all component parties for mobilising their machinery to ensure our victory in this election,” he said.

He was speaking at PN's Melaka state election candidate announcement ceremony at Dewan Muallim Haji Abdul Wahid in Bukit Katil in Melaka on Thursday night.

Tuan Ibrahim also urged party machinery members to set aside petty issues throughout the campaigning period and not be influenced by agendas pursued by certain parties.

“We know the challenge posed by AI is enormous today. Various media will be used in all kinds of ways.

“The aim is to create doubt among party supporters, question decisions and candidates, dig up secrets and even look for things that do not exist to tarnish our candidates,” he said.

He added that all party members should accept the candidates chosen by the party, saying they were the best choices for the people.

He said every candidate had undergone a vetting process at the Syura Ulama Council level.

“PAS is well known as a party whose members are obedient and abide by the party’s decisions.

“Once the party has made a decision, whether you like it or not, you must obey and comply, as long as you are not instructed to do something sinful,” he said.
