A furious row over children’s drinking water has left a female security officer suspended at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. Thai beauty influencer Kotchawan Sajja, known as Gamgy, accused the officer of threatening to attack her in front of her children. The clash followed Gamgy’s remark about the employee’s family problems. However, the security company defended its officer and denied any attempted assault. Five days later, viral footage sparked an airport investigation. Silent CCTV recordings fuelled controversy as management condemned the officer’s conduct, contradicting her employer’s defence. By Thursday, October 29, she was suspended pending disciplinary proceedings. The airport apologised but upheld the original water restrictions. Meanwhile, conflicting accounts and complaints about security staff intensified the row, which is still subject to adjudication.

A female security officer at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport has been suspended following a furious confrontation with a prominent Thai beauty influencer. The row began over drinking water for two young children but rapidly turned personal.

The influencer accused the officer of threatening to attack her after she made a remark about the employee’s family. Another security officer reportedly intervened as tensions mounted. However, the security company defended its employee and disputed the attempted assault allegation.

Airport management subsequently reviewed CCTV footage and found the officer’s conduct unacceptable. By Thursday, October 29, she had been removed from operational duties pending an investigation.

Water bottle dispute at Suvarnabhumi sparks confrontation between influencer and security officer

The confrontation occurred at 3.16 pm on Friday, October 23, at a domestic departure security checkpoint in Concourse B. The passenger was Thai beauty influencer Kotchawan Sajja, widely known as Gamgy.

She operates the Facebook page Gamgy Makeup and was travelling with family members, including her two children. The family approached the checkpoint carrying two bottles of drinking water and a separate children’s drinking flask. However, airport security restrictions prevented both bottles from passing through screening.

The female officer explained that liquids carried into aircraft cabins were subject to security controls. Nevertheless, exceptions could be made for drinking water, milk and food required by young children.

Accordingly, the employee permitted one bottle and the children’s flask through security. The second bottle was refused. Gamgy maintained that she intended to drink the remaining water before continuing her journey. Instead, she claimed the officer threw the bottle into a rubbish bin.

The influencer then asked for the discarded bottle to be returned. That request sparked the confrontation which eventually cost the officer her place on the security checkpoint. However, the two sides offered sharply different accounts of what happened next. Gamgy insisted she simply wanted to recover the water. The security company maintained that she also demanded the employee clean the bottle after retrieving it from the bin.

Security company defends officer as argument turns personal over influencer’s remark about her family

Airports of Thailand Aviation Security Company Limited (AOT AVSEC) directly employed and supervised the officer. In its official statement, the company defended her handling of the screening procedures.

It maintained that she had explained the restrictions politely and followed established regulations. Furthermore, it said the checkpoint was busy when Gamgy requested the discarded bottle. The officer was processing other passengers and could not undertake the requested cleaning.

According to AOT AVSEC, the refusal angered the influencer. The disagreement then moved beyond the original question of drinking water. During the exchange, Gamgy made a personal remark about the officer’s family. The comment became central to the subsequent confrontation, the company’s defence and the airport’s disciplinary investigation.

The remark was reported in Thai as “สงสัยมีปัญหาครอบครัว”. It suggested that the employee must have problems with her family. Gamgy made the comment during the increasingly heated argument over the discarded bottle. However, there was no evidence that the officer actually had family difficulties. The remark concerned the employee’s attitude rather than the security regulations.

Influencer claims officer threatened assault as airport management rejects security employee’s conduct

The confrontation intensified immediately afterwards. Gamgy claimed the officer approached her aggressively and appeared ready to physically attack her. She maintained that the threatening encounter unfolded in front of her two children.

Another security employee reportedly stepped in during the exchange. However, the available accounts do not establish that either woman physically assaulted the other.

The influencer subsequently accused the officer of threatening behaviour. In response, AOT AVSEC rejected the suggestion that its employee had attempted an assault. The company insisted the officer had challenged Gamgy about her personal remark.

It maintained that she had merely questioned why the passenger had referred to her family. Furthermore, the company described its employee as polite, professional and service-minded.

AOT AVSEC also insisted that the officer had followed international security standards. Its statement defended both the original screening decision and the employee’s subsequent conduct. Yet this account would soon clash with the conclusions reached by Suvarnabhumi Airport management.

The airport accepted that the influencer had made the personal remark. However, it subsequently determined that the officer’s response failed to meet required service standards.

Viral video exposes airport confrontation as officials examine silent CCTV and question both accounts

The dispute initially remained confined to the airport and those directly involved. Five days later, it became a public controversy. On Wednesday, October 28, Gamgy published footage of the confrontation on her Facebook page.

Her account described an argument over water for her children which developed into an apparent threat of violence. The footage quickly attracted online attention and prompted questions about both women’s behaviour.

Some social media commentators criticised Gamgy for referring to the employee’s family. Others questioned the officer’s conduct and the security company’s emphatic defence. Meanwhile, Suvarnabhumi Airport began examining the incident.

Management reviewed CCTV recordings and obtained information from employees who witnessed the confrontation. The airport subsequently released security camera footage alongside its official explanation.

However, the published CCTV footage contained no audio. Consequently, viewers could not establish the precise words exchanged between the passenger and the officer. The recording also failed to settle the competing claims about the verbal confrontation. Airport management therefore relied on its examination of the incident and information obtained from those involved.

Silent CCTV footage draws criticism as airport finds security officer’s response below service standards

The absence of sound provoked further criticism online. Some commentators questioned why the airport had released silent footage. Separately, others complained that the recording concentrated on the influencer’s face rather than showing the officer equally.

These objections added another dimension to the controversy. Nevertheless, airport management proceeded with its assessment and announced findings concerning the employee’s behaviour.

The airport confirmed that Gamgy’s remark about family problems preceded the officer’s inappropriate conduct. It also acknowledged that the confrontation had occurred under tense circumstances. Crucially, management concluded that the employee’s response did not meet expected service standards. This finding contradicted AOT AVSEC’s earlier description of the officer’s conduct as appropriate and professional.

The distinction concerned the officer’s reaction rather than the original security decision. Airport management did not conclude that the employee had wrongly enforced the liquid restrictions. Instead, it criticised her behaviour after the disagreement became personal. The airport maintained that staff were required to remain composed during difficult encounters with passengers.

Security officer suspended and airport apologises while rules on children’s drinking water remain

By Thursday, October 29, the controversy had produced direct disciplinary consequences. AOT AVSEC temporarily suspended the female officer from operational duties.

The suspension followed the airport’s review of the confrontation and the public dispute surrounding it. However, the employee was not dismissed. She was removed from duty while further inquiries continued.

The officer has not been publicly identified in the available reports. Airport management indicated that disciplinary action would follow if misconduct was established. At the same time, the company had already publicly defended her handling of the incident. No final disciplinary penalty had been confirmed by Sunday, November 1.

Suvarnabhumi Airport also issued a public apology over the confrontation. Management acknowledged that the employee’s conduct fell below its required standards. It stressed that security personnel must maintain emotional control and communicate professionally. Furthermore, staff were reminded to avoid unnecessary arguments with passengers, including those who became provocative or confrontational.

The airport’s response did not alter the underlying aviation security regulations. Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority regulates passenger screening and cabin baggage security. Restrictions apply to liquids, gels and aerosols carried through airport checkpoints.

These measures are intended to prevent dangerous or prohibited items entering aircraft cabins. However, special consideration can be given to food, milk and drinking water required by young children.

Dispute over discarded water bottle exposes conflicting accounts of security officer’s behaviour

Such allowances remain subject to security screening. In this case, the family was carrying two water bottles and a separate flask. According to AOT AVSEC, the officer permitted one bottle for the children’s needs. She also allowed the flask through the checkpoint. Therefore, the dispute did not involve a complete refusal to provide drinking water for the children.

The argument concerned the additional bottle and its disposal. Gamgy said she wanted to drink its contents before proceeding to her flight. However, the company maintained that the bottle had already been placed in a rubbish bin.

It also claimed the influencer demanded that the employee retrieve and clean it. The officer reportedly refused because she was occupied with screening other passengers.

AOT AVSEC maintained that its employee had explained the regulations before the disagreement escalated. Furthermore, it insisted that the officer had acted within established security procedures. The company’s statement placed particular emphasis on the passenger’s dissatisfaction and subsequent personal remark. In contrast, airport management focused on the employee’s conduct after the exchange became heated.

The two official accounts therefore differed over the officer’s behaviour, not the basic screening restrictions. The security company defended her professional manner and disputed the allegation of attempted assault. Airport management subsequently found her response unacceptable. As a result, the employee was suspended despite her employer’s original defence.

Assault allegation remains disputed as online complaints mount over airport security staff conduct

The influencer’s accusation remained disputed throughout the controversy. Gamgy maintained that the officer approached her aggressively and appeared ready to attack. AOT AVSEC insisted that its employee had simply challenged the remark about her family.

Neither account established that physical violence occurred. Moreover, the available reports contained no confirmation of criminal charges against either woman.

The airport’s investigation consequently centred on workplace conduct and disciplinary standards. There was no confirmed criminal prosecution arising from the confrontation. The suspension was an employment measure rather than a criminal penalty. Likewise, the airport had not announced that the original security screening decision was improper.

The public reaction continued beyond the two women’s competing claims. Several social media users described previous encounters with airport security officers they considered unfriendly. Some complained about employees chatting while working or displaying poor service attitudes. However, these were individual online allegations rather than findings from the October 23 investigation.

Other commentators questioned AOT AVSEC’s description of the suspended officer as service-minded. The company’s defence had insisted that she maintained appropriate manners throughout the encounter. Yet airport management reached a different conclusion after examining the incident. That disagreement between the two official statements became a prominent feature of the affair.

Airport findings trace argument from family remark to officer’s conduct at domestic screening point

Notably, the airport’s findings acknowledged the influencer’s role in escalating the dispute. Her personal remark about family problems was recorded in the official account.

Nevertheless, management determined that the officer’s subsequent conduct warranted disciplinary scrutiny. The airport’s position therefore distinguished between the passenger’s remarks and the employee’s professional responsibilities.

The confrontation occurred at Thailand’s principal international aviation gateway. Suvarnabhumi handles both domestic and international flights, with security screening forming a central part of airport operations. In this instance, however, the dispute took place in the domestic departure area. It concerned a family travelling with children rather than an international passenger facing immigration procedures.

The location and timing were established in the security company’s account. The family entered the screening area at 3.16 pm on Friday, October 23. They were carrying two bottles of drinking water and a children’s flask. The officer allowed one bottle and the flask through security. The additional bottle was refused and subsequently discarded.

The dispute then developed over retrieving the bottle from the rubbish bin. According to the company, Gamgy wanted the employee to clean it. The employee refused because she was busy. The influencer then made the remark about family problems. Shortly afterwards, the confrontation escalated into accusations of threatening behaviour.

Airport apology and suspension follow CCTV review as company continues to deny attempted assault

The sequence became central to the airport’s findings. Management confirmed that the personal remark preceded the officer’s unacceptable response. However, it did not overturn the original decision concerning the water. The investigation instead addressed the conduct of the employee during the argument.

The public controversy unfolded several days after the confrontation itself. Gamgy published the footage on October 28, prompting official responses. Subsequently, the airport released silent CCTV images and its explanation. AOT AVSEC also issued a statement defending the employee. By October 29, the officer had been temporarily suspended from operational duties.

The airport’s apology followed its determination that the employee’s behaviour failed to meet required standards. However, the available material does not establish that the officer was dismissed or criminally charged. The company also continued to dispute the influencer’s attempted assault allegation in its published account.

Disciplinary investigation continues after airport rejects officer’s conduct in water bottle row

The case therefore remained an employment investigation rather than a confirmed criminal matter. Its central facts were established through the airport’s findings and the competing statements.

The liquid restrictions were enforced, one bottle was refused and the argument became personal. Subsequently, airport management found the officer’s conduct unacceptable and ordered further action.

As of Sunday, November 1, no final disciplinary outcome had been confirmed. The officer remained subject to a temporary suspension and investigation. Meanwhile, the airport had apologised and acknowledged that the confrontation breached its service standards. AOT AVSEC’s original account continued to dispute the influencer’s accusation of attempted assault.

The outstanding investigation concerns the employee’s conduct after the argument over drinking water escalated. The original screening decision remains unchanged in the available official findings. However, the officer has already been removed from operational duties following the confrontation. What began with a discarded bottle at a domestic security checkpoint ended with an official apology, suspension and disciplinary investigation.
