A Thai woman was arrested for embezzlement after allegedly refusing to return ฿45,800 mistakenly transferred by a Chinese man. The bank confirmed the recipient rejected the reversal, leaving the victim chasing his money for nearly nine months. Finally, Bangkok’s Bang Bon District Court issued an arrest warrant, and police tracked down the 47-year-old in Ratchaburi on October 30. However, she denied knowing about the money, claiming the account was abandoned and police summonses never reached her. Her story contradicts the bank’s account. Meanwhile, the Chinese man’s money remains unaccounted for as she faces criminal legal proceedings in Bangkok.

A 47-year-old Thai woman was arrested for embezzlement after allegedly refusing to return ฿45,800 mistakenly transferred by a Chinese man. Police tracked her to Ratchaburi on Thursday, October 30, following a court-issued arrest warrant.

The Chinese national had spent nearly nine months trying to recover his money. However, the bank reported that the recipient had rejected the transaction reversal. The case subsequently became a criminal investigation, culminating in an arrest warrant issued by Bangkok’s Bang Bon District Court.

Following her arrest, the woman claimed she knew nothing about the money. She insisted the account was no longer in use and denied receiving earlier police summonses.

Thai woman arrested in Ratchaburi after Chinese man’s ฿45,800 bank transfer went to the wrong account

The suspect, identified as Ms Pimaphon, 47, was apprehended in Chedi Hak subdistrict, Mueang Ratchaburi district, Ratchaburi province. Officers acted under arrest warrant No. 110/2569, issued by Bang Bon District Court on October 19, 2026.

The warrant concerned an embezzlement charge arising from a mistaken bank transfer on February 3. By the time police caught up with her, almost nine months had passed since the money entered her account.

The case began when Chinese national Ruirong Huang attempted to transfer ฿45,800 through a mobile banking application. He intended to send the payment to another Chinese national, Mingjie Xu. Instead, the money went into a bank account belonging to Pimaphon. The transaction was completed, leaving Huang’s entire ฿45,800 with an unintended recipient. Upon discovering the error, he approached the police and his bank to recover the funds.

Huang reported the mistaken payment to Phetkasem Police Station in Bangkok and requested assistance with the banking procedures. Initially, he sought to recover the money through the financial institutions handling the transaction.

Bank contacts Thai recipient but reversal of Chinese man’s mistaken ฿45,800 transfer is rejected

The bank contacted the institution responsible for the recipient’s account and attempted to arrange a reversal. However, the recovery attempt failed. According to the bank’s subsequent communication, the recipient had been contacted but rejected the proposed reversal.

The bank informed Huang that the money could not be recovered through the initial procedures. Consequently, he was advised to obtain further police documentation concerning the disputed payment.

This included documentation required to examine the account’s transaction history. Meanwhile, Huang continued attempting to contact Pimaphon directly. Those efforts also failed, leaving the ฿45,800 outstanding despite the involvement of the bank and police.

With the recovery efforts unsuccessful, Huang pursued a formal criminal complaint against the account holder. The complaint concerned money mistakenly deposited into Pimaphon’s account and subsequently not returned.

Under Thai criminal law, dishonest appropriation of another person’s property can constitute embezzlement. This can include property received through a mistake, depending on the recipient’s knowledge and conduct. In this case, the bank had already reported that the recipient rejected the request to reverse the transfer.

Bangkok court issues embezzlement arrest warrant after Chinese man’s repeated attempts to recover money

Investigators at Phetkasem Police Station subsequently pursued the complaint and sought judicial authority to arrest Pimaphon. On October 19, Bang Bon District Court issued arrest warrant No. 110/2569 on an embezzlement charge.

The warrant authorised police to locate and apprehend the 47-year-old woman. At that stage, more than eight months had elapsed since Huang mistakenly transferred the money. His attempts to recover the ฿45,800 had produced no reported repayment.

Police Colonel Pramote Chanboonkaew, Superintendent of Phetkasem Police Station, ordered investigators to execute the warrant. Police Lieutenant Colonel Thawatchai Thipwong, Head of Investigation, led the operation.

He was assisted by Police Senior Sergeant Major Ekayuth Plongkhong. Investigators traced Pimaphon to Chedi Hak subdistrict in Mueang Ratchaburi district, west of Bangkok. On Thursday, October 30, officers arrested her under the warrant issued eleven days earlier.

The arrest brought the long-running case back to Phetkasem Police Station, where Huang had originally reported the mistake. By then, the Chinese national had been seeking recovery of his money for nearly nine months. The investigation had progressed from a banking complaint to a criminal case carrying a court-approved arrest warrant. Police then questioned Pimaphon about the disputed transfer and her failure to respond to earlier summonses.

Arrested woman denies knowing about bank deposit and claims she never received police summonses

During questioning, Pimaphon denied knowing that Huang’s ฿45,800 had entered her bank account. She claimed that she had stopped using the account a considerable time before the incident. As a result, she maintained that she was unaware of the incoming payment.

Her explanation contrasted with the bank’s earlier communication, which reported that the recipient had rejected the proposed reversal.

Notably, the bank’s reported contact with the recipient was central to the failed recovery attempt. According to its communication, the recipient had been contacted about the mistaken transfer.

The proposed reversal was nevertheless rejected, leaving Huang unable to retrieve his money. Pimaphon, however, maintained that she knew nothing about the deposit. The published accounts did not explain the discrepancy between the bank’s report and her subsequent statement.

Separately, the woman addressed her failure to respond to police summonses issued during the investigation. She told officers that the documents had been sent to her officially registered residential address.

However, she no longer lived at that location. Consequently, she claimed she had never received the summonses requiring her to report to investigators. Her explanation was recorded during questioning following the arrest in Ratchaburi.

Police transfer embezzlement suspect to Bangkok after failed bank recovery and court-approved arrest

Despite those statements, officers proceeded under the existing court-issued embezzlement warrant. The judicial order had been approved on October 19 following the criminal complaint. Police therefore transferred Pimaphon to investigators at Phetkasem Police Station in Bangkok for further legal proceedings. The arrest operation had concluded eleven days after the warrant was issued.

The criminal complaint followed several unsuccessful attempts to recover the Chinese national’s money. First, Huang sought help from the banking system after discovering the mistaken transfer.

The bank subsequently reported that the recipient had rejected the transaction reversal. Huang then obtained police documentation and attempted further contact with the account holder. When those efforts failed, he pursued criminal proceedings.

As part of the investigation, police examined the circumstances surrounding the February 3 payment and subsequent recovery attempts. The complaint identified the intended recipient, the unintended account holder and the exact amount transferred.

Furthermore, the bank’s communication reported that the proposed reversal had been rejected. These developments preceded the application for the arrest warrant eventually issued by Bang Bon District Court.

Fate of Chinese man’s ฿45,800 remains unclear as arrested woman faces embezzlement legal proceedings

The available reports did not establish whether the ฿45,800 remained in Pimaphon’s account when police arrested her. Nor did they disclose whether the money had been withdrawn, transferred elsewhere or otherwise used.

There was also no confirmation that Huang had recovered any portion of the disputed funds. In addition, the financial institution involved was not identified, and no detailed transaction history was published.

Another unresolved detail concerned the bank’s reported communication with the recipient. Pimaphon maintained that she had not used the account for a considerable period. Yet the bank had previously informed Huang that the recipient rejected the proposed reversal. The published accounts did not establish how that contact occurred or whether investigators obtained further evidence concerning the refusal.

Following her arrest, Pimaphon was handed over to investigators at Phetkasem Police Station. She faced further legal proceedings on the embezzlement allegation. The reports did not confirm whether she subsequently appeared before a court or applied for bail. Equally, there was no reported repayment of the disputed ฿45,800 following her detention.

The case began with Huang’s mistaken transfer on February 3 and escalated after repeated recovery attempts failed. On October 19, Bang Bon District Court issued the embezzlement warrant. Eleven days later, police arrested Pimaphon in Ratchaburi and transferred her to Bangkok. Nearly nine months after the original banking mistake, the Chinese national’s efforts to recover ฿45,800 had culminated in a criminal arrest.
