Changi Airport’s self-service check-in kiosks were disrupted on Nov 2, affecting some kiosks at all four terminals and stopping self check-in and boarding pass printing.

Changi Airport Group said the problem began at about 8.30am because of a “global disruption in Advance Passenger Processing systems”, and “other airports were similarly affected”.

Some airlines handled check-in manually while ground staff helped passengers. Services returned to normal at about 11am after at least two-and-a-half hours.

SINGAPORE – Some self-service check-in kiosks at Changi Airport experienced a temporary disruption on the morning of Nov 2, leaving terminals unable to process self check-in or print boarding passes.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, Changi Airport Group (CAG) said the issue arose at around 8.30am “due to a global disruption in Advance Passenger Processing systems”.

As a result, some airlines had to manage check-in procedures manually.

“Other airports were similarly affected,” CAG added.

The disruption persisted for at least two-and-a-half hours, with check-in processes for all affected airlines returning to normal at around 11am.

“During this period, Changi Airport ground staff assisted airlines and passengers on the ground,” CAG said.

A check by ST showed that no flights were delayed due to the disruption.

ST has contacted CAG for more information.
