Nilai teen tests positive for three drugs after dazed vaping video prompts police investigation

A 17-year-old secondary school student in Nilai has preliminarily tested positive for ketamine, benzodiazepines, and THC following a viral video purportedly depicting him in a dazed state after vaping.

The video, circulated on social media platforms, prompted an investigation by Negeri Sembilan police.

The police chief, Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, noted that while initial test results indicate drug presence, further confirmation is required.

The student will be referred to the National Anti-Drug Agency for further action under relevant legislation.

SEREMBAN, Nov 5 — A male secondary school student in Nilai has tested positive in a preliminary urine screening for three types of drugs, namely ketamine, benzodiazepines and THC.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the 17-year-old student was being investigated following the circulation of a video on social media showing him allegedly in a dazed state after vaping.

Alzafny said the video was believed to have been circulated on October 28 at a secondary school in the district.

“Police took note of the video circulating on the Threads platform on November 4 before launching an investigation and identifying the student involved.

“However, the preliminary urine screening results are still subject to further confirmation. In this regard, a police report has been lodged in connection with the incident,” he said in a statement here today.

Alzafny said the student would be referred to the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) for further action under Section 3(1) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983. — Bernama
