Public advised to avoid areas in Jurong West, Pioneer over risk of flash floods

Commuters are advised to avoid the areas for an hour from 8.26am.

SINGAPORE – Commuters are advised to avoid two locations in the west of Singapore on the morning of Sept 10, owing to the risk of flash floods.

In social media posts on X, national water agency PUB alerted the public to stay away from Jalan Boon Lay (from International Road to Enterprise Road) for an hour from 8.26am.

It also urged motorists to avoid the traffic junction of Pesawat Drive and Jurong Port Road for an hour from 8.29am because of heavy rain.

In its fortnightly weather forecast, the Meteorological Service Singapore on Sept 1 said brief thundery showers can be expected over parts of the island in the late morning and afternoon on a few days in the first half of the month .

Fair and occasionally windy conditions are expected on most days, particularly during the first week of September, the weatherman said.

在社交媒体上，国家水务局 (PUB) 向公众发出通知，提醒大家从早上 8 点 26 分起，在一小时内不要进入 Jalan Boon Lay（从 International Road 到 Enterprise Road）路段。

当局还敦促驾车人士从早上 8 点 29 分起避开 Pesawat Drive 和 Jurong Port Road 的交通交叉路口，预计持续一小时，因为届时将有大雨。

新加坡气象局在9月1日发布的双周天气预报中表示，本月上半月的几天里，岛上部分地区在上午晚些时候和下午可能会出现短暂的雷阵雨。

气象员表示，大部分时间天气晴朗，偶尔会有风，尤其是在九月的第一周。

国家环境局
