SINGAPORE – Motorists are advised to avoid parts of Rochor, Stevens and Thomson amid risk of flash foods due to heavy rain on Sept 11.
In a post on X just before 3pm, national water agency PUB advised members of the public to avoid Thomson Road (Balestier Road to Novena Rise) for the next hour.
Shortly after, it posted similar alerts for the junction of Steven Road and Balmoral Road, as well as Mackenzie Road (near Bukit Timah Road) and Bencoolen Street.
The National Environment Agency (NEA) said in an advisory at around 3pm that heavy rain is expected over northern, eastern and central Singapore from 3pm to 3.45pm.
In its fortnightly weather forecast , the Meteorological Service Singapore on Sept 1 said brief thundery showers can be expected over parts of the island in the late morning and afternoon on a few days in the first half of the month.
Fair and occasionally windy conditions are expected on most days.

在下午 3 点前不久，国家水务局 (PUB) 在 X 上发布消息，建议公众在接下来的一个小时内避开汤申路（巴莱斯蒂尔路至诺维娜路）。
随后不久，它又发布了针对史蒂文路和巴尔莫勒尔路交叉口、麦肯齐路（靠近武吉知马路）和明古连街的类似警报。
国家环境局（NEA）在下午3点左右发布的公告中表示，预计下午3点至3点45分新加坡北部、东部和中部地区将有大雨。
新加坡气象局在9月1日发布的双周天气预报中表示，本月上半月的几天里，岛上部分地区在上午晚些时候和下午可能会出现短暂的雷阵雨。
预计大部分时间天气晴朗，偶尔有风。
