Early morning blaze guts first floor of Kuching retail chain, no injuries reported

A fire erupted early Saturday morning at a retail chain near Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce in Kuching.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, or Bomba, responded by dispatching crews from the Batu Lintang fire station, successfully controlling the blaze by 5.18am.

No casualties were reported, but the first floor was completely destroyed and the second floor severely damaged.

Firefighters received additional support from a water tanker due to low hydrant pressure, remaining on the scene until the fire was fully extinguished.

KUCHING, Sept 12 — A fire broke out at a retail chain near Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce here early on Saturday morning.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (better known locally as Bomba) dispatched firefighters from the Batu Lintang fire station after receiving a call at around 3.42am.

“The fire broke out on the first floor involving various goods. No victims were reported at the scene.

“The first floor was completely destroyed while the second floor was severely damaged.

“Firefighters managed to keep the fire under control at around 5.18am and overhaul works are being done,” Bomba said.

As of 7am, firefighters were still at the scene to extinguish the fire.

The firefighters were supported by a water tanker from the Tabuan Jaya fire station to facilitate firefighting efforts due to low water pressure from the fire hydrant. — The Borneo Post

砂拉越消防救援局（简称Bomba）迅速做出反应，从峇都林当消防站派出人员，于凌晨5点18分成功控制了火势。

没有人员伤亡报告，但一楼完全被毁，二楼严重受损。

由于消防栓压力不足，消防员得到了水罐车的额外支援，并一直坚守现场直到大火完全扑灭。
