Kota Bharu police have initiated an investigation following a viral video that depicts a man kicking a young girl, allegedly his daughter, at a Thai restaurant in Telipot.
The incident, reported to authorities after gaining traction on the Threads social media platform, is being examined under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
Authorities are actively seeking the identities of both the man and the young girl involved.

Kota Bharu police chief ACP Mohd Azmir Damiri said police received a report from a member of the public at about 10.24pm today regarding the video, which went viral on the Threads social media platform.
“The video shows the rough behaviour of a man kicking a young girl believed to be his daughter at a well-known Thai restaurant in Telipot. It was uploaded by the restaurant owner via their Facebook account,” he said in a statement today.
Mohd Azmir said the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
He said police are still working to track down the man involved, as well as the young girl featured in the recording.
He also urged members of the public with information on the incident to channel it to Inspector Nur Faraheen Azman Lim at 011-11136722. — Bernama

哥打巴鲁警区主任莫哈末·阿兹米尔·达米里助理警监表示，警方于今天晚上10点24分左右接到一名公众人士的举报，称一段视频在社交媒体平台Threads上疯传。
“视频显示，在泰利波特一家知名的泰国餐馆里，一名男子粗暴地踢打一名据信是他女儿的年轻女孩。这段视频是由餐馆老板通过他们的Facebook账号上传的，”他今天在一份声明中说。
莫哈末·阿兹米尔表示，该案件正在根据 2001 年儿童法令第 31(1)(a) 条进行调查。
他说，警方仍在努力追查涉案男子以及录像中出现的年轻女孩。
