JAKARTA: More than 600 Indonesian rescuers were searching for 129 people still missing after a passenger ship capsized in the Java Sea on the weekend, an official said on Monday (Sept 14), with the death toll steady at six.

The Virgo Transport 8 ship carrying 243 people went missing in bad weather early on Sunday, the rescue agency said. Authorities have rescued 108 people from the ship, which was travelling from Surabaya in East Java to Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan.

雅加达：一名官员周一（9月14日）表示，超过600名印尼救援人员正在爪哇海搜寻周末倾覆的一艘客轮上仍然失踪的129人，死亡人数仍为6人。

救援机构称，载有243人的Virgo Transport 8号货轮于周日凌晨因恶劣天气失踪。当局已从船上救起108人，该船原计划从东爪哇泗水驶往南加里曼丹的班贾尔马辛。
