Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail advised Malaysians against hastily replacing their existing cards to prevent overcrowding at NRD offices.
The updated MyKad includes approximately 50 additional security features that will be implemented gradually, but current cardholders can continue to use their existing cards.

The new card incorporates several security elements on both its front and back, including a Dynamic Security Hologram and transparent window on the front.
The back of the card features an Enforcement QR Code and a dual-interface chip as part of the security upgrades.

The new MyKad will be available when applications open tomorrow, with Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail advising Malaysians not to rush to replace their existing cards to avoid congestion at NRD offices.

更新后的 MyKad 包含约 50 项新增安全功能，这些功能将逐步实施，但现有持卡人可以继续使用他们现有的卡片。
