Woman under probe for allegedly eavesdropping on singer Cha Eun-woo

A woman is being investigated on suspicion of eavesdropping on singer-actor Cha Eun-woo by installing a recording device under a cafe table last month, police said Friday.

The woman in her 50s was caught by police on Aug. 30 while removing the device from the cafe in Seoul's Yongsan Ward where Cha was meeting with an acquaintance, according to the Yongsan Police Station.

She allegedly used the same method twice last month to eavesdrop on Cha's conversations.

Police are reportedly determining whether she had any accomplices and how she got hold of the device by conducting a forensic analysis of her phone, among other measures.

警方周五表示，一名女子因涉嫌上个月在咖啡桌下安装录音设备窃听歌手兼演员车银优的谈话而正在接受调查。

据龙山警察局称，8月30日，这名50多岁的女子在首尔龙山区一家咖啡馆内取走该装置时被警方抓获，当时车某正在那里与一名熟人见面。

据称，她上个月曾两次使用同样的方法窃听车某的谈话。

据报道，警方正在通过对她的手机进行法证分析等措施，确定她是否有同伙以及她是如何获得该设备的。
