PM channels RM5,000 initial assistance to Tambun fire victims

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim provided RM5,000 in initial aid to the family of three fire victims in Ipoh.

Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri, representing Tambun MP's Service Centre, delivered the contribution to the surviving family member.

The service centre is prepared to assist with accommodation and repairs, and discussions are ongoing with agencies for further support.

IPOH, Sept 20 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today contributed RM5,000 in initial assistance to the family of the victims of a fire that claimed the lives of three family members at Persiaran Desa Tambun 4, Taman Desa Tambun, here early this morning.

The contribution was presented by Tambun Member of Parliament’s (MP) special officer Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri, representing the Tambun MP’s Service Centre, to the family’s representative, Raja Ikhwan Hadi Raja Ahmad.

Mohamad Hairul Amir said the assistance was an initial contribution to ease the burden on the family, which is now coping with the loss of three family members in the tragedy.

“Insya-Allah, tomorrow, the ICU (Implementation Coordination Unit) of the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) will come to conduct an assessment, and we will try to assist with repairs to the house as well as provide any other assistance needed,” he told reporters at the scene here today.

He said the service centre was also prepared to help provide temporary accommodation if the victim’s family needed a place to stay while the house was being repaired.

“Looking at the condition of the house, the repair process may take quite some time. So, the service centre may help provide temporary accommodation for them until the repairs are completed,” he said.

Mohamad Hairul Amir said they would also discuss with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and relevant agencies to identify suitable assistance for the victim’s family, including the possibility of providing counselling services.

He said they would also assist with arrangements for the burial of all the victims.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Hairul Amir said the Prime Minister had conveyed his condolences to the victims’ family and instructed the service centre to provide the best possible assistance to the family.

Earlier, an elderly couple and their grandson were killed in a fire involving a two-storey terraced house in the incident early this morning.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Datuk Sayani Saidon said the department received a call at 4am before a team from the Tambun and Ipoh Fire and Rescue stations rushed to the scene.

The victims were identified as Raja Ahmad Raja Ali, 70, Zaitun Mohamed, 64, and their 18-year-old grandson, Nik Abdurrahman Azimin Harith Helal, while Raja Ikhwan Hadi, 47, survived after he was believed to have been sleeping in the parking area of the house. — Bernama

怡保，9月20日讯——首相拿督斯里安华·易卜拉欣今日向今早发生在怡保德沙淡汶花园德沙淡汶路4号的火灾遇难者家属捐赠了5000令吉作为初步援助。这场火灾夺去了三名家庭成员的生命。

他说：“从房屋状况来看，维修过程可能需要相当长的时间。因此，服务中心可能会为他们提供临时住所，直到维修完成。”

穆罕默德·海鲁尔·阿米尔表示，他们还将与社会福利部（JKM）和相关机构进行讨论，以确定对受害者家属的适当援助，包括提供咨询服务的可能性。

他说他们还会协助安排所有遇难者的葬礼事宜。

与此同时，穆罕默德·海鲁尔·阿米尔表示，首相已向遇难者家属表示慰问，并指示服务中心向家属提供尽可能最好的帮助。

今天凌晨发生的一起火灾中，一对老年夫妇和他们的孙子在一栋两层排屋中丧生。
