Expect road closures in Marina Bay, Padang areas for F1; train, bus service hours to be extended

The Formula One Singapore Grand Prix weekend will take place from Oct 9-11.

Road closures will affect Marina Centre and Padang from Oct 7 to 13 for the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix, with some roads open during peak hours to ease traffic.

MRT train services on multiple lines and some bus services will have extended operating hours from Oct 9 to 11 to support race weekend travel.

Vehicle access to Marina Centre will be restricted with specific timings and conditions; taxis and motorcycles have limited access, and carparks at key locations remain open.

SINGAPORE – Some roads in the Marina Centre and Padang areas will be closed for a week from Oct 7 because of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix, while MRT train services and some bus services will be extended during race weekend from Oct 9 to 11.

Roads affected include Raffles Avenue, Raffles Boulevard, Esplanade Drive and St Andrew’s Road, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a statement on Sept 4.

The roads will close from 12.01am on Oct 7 and all roads will be fully accessible by 5.30am by Oct 13.

The following affected routes will be reopened during peak hours to facilitate traffic:

Towards Shenton Way: Nicoll Highway to Esplanade Drive/Stamford Road

“Members of the public and F1 ticket holders are strongly encouraged to take public transport to get to the Marina Centre and Padang area from Oct 7 to 13,” said the LTA.

“Train services will be extended on event days from Oct 9 to 11,” it added.

Extension of MRT train services

From Oct 9 to 11, train services on the North East Line (NEL) and Downtown Line (DTL), as well as on the Sengkang-Punggol Light Rail Transit (SPLRT) system, will be extended by about 30 minutes or 45 minutes, said public transport operator SBS Transit.

On Oct 11, the last train to Punggol Coast on the NEL will depart from HarbourFront station at 12.45am, while the final train in the opposite direction will leave Punggol Coast at 12.15am.

On the DTL, the last train will leave Bukit Panjang station at 12.18am, and the final train from Expo station will depart at 12.19am. On the SPLRT system, the last train will leave Sengkang station at 1.17am and Punggol station at 1.24am.

Train services will be extended by about half an hour on the nights of Oct 9 and 10.

Train services on the North-South Line, East-West Line, Circle Line and Thomson-East Coast Line will also be extended from Oct 9 to 11, said public transport operator SMRT.

The last trains on the North-South Line and East-West Line will leave City Hall station at 12.30am on Oct 9 and 10 and 12.45am on Oct 11.

There will be no extension of the Bukit Panjang LRT service and Changi Airport service.

Changes to bus service timings

To complement the extended train service hours, some bus services connecting from MRT stations will also have extended operating hours during the F1 race weekend.

A total of 16 SBS Transit bus services will run later from their respective bus interchanges : 60A, 63M, 114A, 222, 225G, 228, 229, 232, 238, 261, 269, 315, 325, 410W, 804 and 812.

A total of 18 SMRT bus services will also run later from their respective bus interchanges from Oct 9 to 11: 181A, 240, 241, 243G, 920, 922, 973A, 300, 301, 302, 307, 983A, 974A, 901, 911, 912A, 912B and 913.

SBS Transit said its bus service 195 will operate temporarily from the Kampong Bahru Bus Terminal from Oct 7 to 12, instead of the Marina Centre Bus Terminal, because of road closures in the Marina Centre area.

During this period, Service 195 will stop at 13 bus stops along Kampong Bahru Road, Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road and Spooner Road. It will skip seven bus stops that are on its regular route along Raffles Avenue, North Bridge Road, North Boat Quay, Parliament Place and Raffles Boulevard.

From Oct 6 to 12, some bus services will skip stops along their regular routes because of road closures.

Bus arrival timings for these services will not be available on SBS Transit’s mobile app and website during this period. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys early, as there may be service delays.

Vehicle access into Marina Centre

During the road closure period, motorists can still access the Marina Centre area via Rochor Road to Temasek Boulevard, or through a single lane along Raffles Boulevard via Nicoll Highway or Temasek Boulevard.

Buses and vehicles with registration plates starting with W, X or Y will not be allowed entry.

Motorists can access these roads only at these timings:

Oct 7, 8 and 12: Midnight-6am, 10am-5pm, and 10pm-midnight

Oct 9: Midnight-6am, 10am-4pm, and 11pm-midnight

Oct 10 and 11: Midnight-1pm

Oct 13: Midnight-5.30am

Taxis and motorcycles can use the single-lane access at all times, except during the race hours. Taxis and private-hire cars are allowed to pick up and drop off passengers only at designated taxi points and driveways.

Carparks at Suntec City, Millenia Walk and Marina Square will remain open to the public.

为配合一级方程式新加坡大奖赛，10月7日至13日期间，滨海中心和政府大厦草场将实施道路封闭，高峰时段部分道路将开放以缓解交通拥堵。

为方便赛车周末出行，10月9日至11日期间，多条地铁线路和部分巴士线路将延长运营时间。

车辆进入滨海中心将受到限制，并有特定的时间和条件；出租车和摩托车的通行受到限制，主要地点的停车场仍然开放。

新加坡——由于一级方程式新加坡大奖赛，滨海中心和巴东地区的部分道路将于10月7日起封闭一周；同时，地铁列车服务和部分巴士服务将在10月9日至11日的比赛周末期间延长运营时间。

陆路交通管理局（LTA）在9月4日的一份声明中表示，受影响的道路包括莱佛士大道、莱佛士林荫道、滨海大道和圣安德烈路。

道路将于 10 月 7 日凌晨 12 点 01 分封闭，所有道路将于 10 月 13 日上午 5 点 30 分完全恢复通行。

为缓解交通拥堵，以下受影响路段将在高峰时段重新开放：

道路将于10月7日和8日开放，时间为早上5:30至10:00。

往乌节路方向：从哥烈码头经圣安德烈路到斯坦福路

往珊顿道方向：从尼诰大道到滨海大道/斯坦福路

前往滨海大道：从共和大道经莱佛士大道至海湾大道

道路将于10月9日上午5:30至10:00开放通行。

道路将于10月12日上午5:30至10:00开放通行。

往珊顿道方向：从尼诰大道到滨海大道；或经尼诰大道从勿刹峇沙路到滨海大道

前往东海岸公园大道（樟宜机场）：经莱佛士大道，从勿拉士峇沙路转至共和大道

道路将于10月12日下午5点至晚上8点30分开放通行。

陆路交通管理局表示：“强烈建议公众和F1门票持有者在10月7日至13日期间乘坐公共交通工具前往滨海中心和巴东地区。”

“10月9日至11日活动期间，列车服务将延长，”公告补充道。

地铁列车服务延长

公共交通运营商新捷运表示，从 10 月 9 日至 11 日，东北线 (NEL)、市区线 (DTL) 以及盛港-榜鹅轻轨 (SPLRT) 系统的列车服务将延长约 30 分钟或 45 分钟。

10 月 11 日，东北线开往榜鹅海岸的最后一班列车将于凌晨 12 点 45 分从港湾站出发，而反方向的最后一班列车将于凌晨 12 点 15 分从榜鹅海岸站出发。

在市区线（DTL）上，末班车将于凌晨12点18分从武吉班让站出发，末班车将于凌晨12点19分从博览站出发。在新加坡轻轨（SPLRT）系统上，末班车将于凌晨1点17分从盛港站出发，末班车将于凌晨1点24分从榜鹅站出发。

10月9日和10日晚，列车服务将延长约半小时。

公共交通运营商SMRT表示，南北线、东西线、环线和汤申-东海岸线的列车服务也将从10月9日延长至11日。

南北线和东西线的末班车将于10月9日和10日凌晨12点30分从市政厅站发车，10月11日凌晨12点45分发车。

武吉班让轻轨服务和樟宜机场服务将不会延长。

公交服务时间变更

为了配合延长的地铁服务时间，一些从地铁站接驳的巴士服务在F1比赛周末期间也将延长运营时间。

共有 16 条 SBS Transit 巴士线路将稍后从各自的巴士转换站发车：60A、63M、114A、222、225G、228、229、232、238、261、269、315、325、410W、804 和 812。

10 月 9 日至 11 日，SMRT 的 18 条巴士线路也将从各自的巴士转换站延时发车：181A、240、241、243G、920、922、973A、300、301、302、307、983A、974A、901、911、912A、912B 和 913。

新捷运表示，由于滨海中心地区道路封闭，其195路巴士服务将于10月7日至12日期间暂时从甘榜峇鲁巴士总站发车，而不是从滨海中心巴士总站发车。

在此期间，195路公交车将停靠甘榜峇鲁路、余东璇街、新桥路和斯普纳路沿线的13个公交车站。它将跳过莱佛士大道、桥北路、北驳船码头、国会大厦和莱佛士大道沿线的7个公交车站。

10月6日至12日期间，由于道路封闭，部分公交线路将不停靠常规路线上的站点。

在此期间，SBS Transit的手机应用程序和网站将无法提供这些线路的巴士到站时间。建议乘客提前规划行程，因为可能会出现服务延误。

车辆可驶入码头中心

道路封闭期间，驾车者仍可通过罗卓路前往淡马锡大道，或通过莱佛士大道上的单车道经由尼诰大道或淡马锡大道前往滨海中心区域。

车牌号以 W、X 或 Y 开头的公共汽车和车辆不得入内。

驾驶员只能在以下时间段内通行这些道路：

10月7日、8日和12日：午夜至凌晨6点、上午10点至下午5点以及晚上10点至午夜

10月9日：午夜至凌晨6点，上午10点至下午4点，以及晚上11点至午夜

10月10日和11日：午夜至下午1点

10月13日：午夜至凌晨5点30分

除比赛时段外，出租车和摩托车可随时使用单车道。出租车和私家车仅可在指定的出租车停靠点和车道上下客。

新达城、美年广场和滨海广场的停车场将继续对公众开放。
