Car overturns after skidding and crashing into road divider in Ang Mo Kio

A 31-year-old male car driver was taken conscious to hospital after the car he was driving skidded and overturned after crashing into a road divider in Ang Mo Kio.

The incident happened at about 12.40am near the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2.

A video of the incident posted on social media shows a stretch of badly dented road divider fencing that had partially collapsed.

The car is seen overturned across the right two lanes of the three-lane carriageway.

A police fast response car is also seen, diverting traffic away from the affected lanes.

Police told AsiaOne that the car is believed to have skidded.

The 31-year-old male car driver was taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital by Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedics, and is assisting with ongoing police investigations.

This is the second reported accident along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 this week.

On Sept 22, a two-vehicle accident, involving a car and taxi, happened at about 1.45am.

A 33-year-old male car driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs. A vaporiser and a pod found in his possession were seized and referred to the Health Sciences Authority.

There were no reported injuries.

社交媒体上发布的一段事故视频显示，一段严重凹陷的道路隔离带围栏已经部分坍塌。

可以看到这辆车侧翻在三车道公路的右侧两条车道上。

现场还可以看到一辆警用快速反应车，正在引导车辆绕开受影响的车道。

警方告诉亚洲新闻网，据信这辆车发生了侧滑。

这名31岁的男性司机被新加坡民防部队医护人员送往陈笃生医院，当时他意识清醒，目前正在协助警方进行调查。

这是本周宏茂桥5道发生的第二起交通事故。

9月22日凌晨1点45分左右，发生了一起涉及一辆轿车和一辆出租车的两车相撞事故。

一名33岁男性司机因涉嫌吸毒后驾驶被捕。警方在其身上搜出一个电子烟和一个烟弹，并已移交卫生科学局。

没有人员受伤的报告。
