'A lesson learnt': Grab delivery rider gets trapped on 30th-floor stairwell after finding exit door locked

A Grab delivery ride r was stranded on the 30th floor of a condominium after using a staircase exit that required a key to open.

In a video posted on TikTok on Thursday (Sept 24), user temasek_rid3r shared his experience after making a delivery there.

He said he had earlier made a delivery to the same block on the 32nd floor before heading to another unit on the 30th floor, explaining that the lift did not have buttons for every floor and required intercom access.

After completing the delivery, he took the stairs to go back down, only to find the door locked behind him.

"This is the lock, you need a key to open door to the stairs," he said in the video, showing the locked door.

He then tried calling for assistance but said he had no reception.

"I thought I'd [have to] go all the way down," he said.

He eventually found an unlocked door on the 27th floor and was able to exit the staircase.

The rider captioned the video: "Riding hard so you can eat easy, best combo ever: stuck at 30th floor stuffy emergency exit + with a raincoat on."

He described the incident as a "lesson learnt", reminding other delivery riders to check the stairwell doors before using them.

"So guys, even though it's the same block, different level, just be careful," he said.

他将这起事件描述为一次“吸取教训”的经历，并提醒其他送货员在使用楼梯间门之前要检查门的情况。

“所以各位，即使是同一个街区，不同的楼层，也要小心，”他说。
