SINGAPORE: Swimmer Gan Ching Hwee clinched a silver medal in the women’s 800m freestyle final on Friday (Sep 25), winning her third medal for Singapore at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

She clocked a time of 8min 26.25sec, smashing her own national record in the process.

China's Li Bingjie won gold in 8min 24.02sec, while Japan's Ichika Kajimoto took bronze in 8min 27.37sec.
