Woman dies after Honda Jazz loses control, crashes into lorry in Kulai

A 32-year-old hearing-impaired woman died after her Honda Jazz crashed into a lorry in Johor Bahru.

The woman suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene, while the 66-year-old lorry driver had minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation, and police are seeking information from the public.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 — A 32-year-old woman with a hearing disability died after the Honda Jazz she was driving crashed into the rear of a lorry at KM32 of Jalan Johor Bahru-Air Hitam here early today.

The woman, who worked as a general worker at a technology park in Kulai, suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 66-year-old local lorry driver sustained minor injuries, Utusan Malaysia reported.

Kulai district police chief Assistant Commissioner Tan Seng Lee said police received information about the crash at about 6.15am.

“Initial police investigations found that the accident is believed to have occurred when the Honda Jazz driven by the victim, travelling from Kulai Besar towards Johor Bahru, lost control.

“The woman’s car then crashed into the rear of a lorry driven by a 66-year-old local man who was stopped at a traffic light,” he said in a statement.

Tan said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

吉隆坡，9月25日讯——今天清晨，一名32岁、患有听力障碍的女子驾驶本田Jazz汽车在吉隆坡新山-亚依淡路32公里处撞上一辆货车尾部，不幸身亡。

据《马来西亚前锋报》报道，这名在古来科技园担任普通工人的女子头部受重伤，当场死亡；而66岁的当地货车司机则受了轻伤。

古来警区主任助理警监陈成利表示，警方于早上6点15分左右接到有关车祸的信息。

“初步警方调查发现，事故据信发生在受害者驾驶的本田Jazz从古来勿刹驶往新山途中失去控制时。

他在一份声明中说：“随后，这名女子的汽车撞上了一辆由一名66岁的当地男子驾驶的卡车的尾部，当时这名男子正停在红绿灯前。”

谭表示，该案件正在根据 1987 年道路交通法第 41(1) 条进行调查。
