A fire broke out on Sept 4 at an open grass patch near a heavy vehicle park in Seletar West Road, involving vegetation about 150m by 50m.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force responded at 9.50am and used three water jets to extinguish the fire with no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation; a similar grass fire occurred on Sept 3 in Bukit Panjang, also with no injuries.

SINGAPORE – A fire broke out at an open grass patch near a heavy vehicle park in Seletar West Road 1 on Sept 4 .

In response to queries from The Straits Times, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at about 9.50am . It involved vegetation measuring about 150m by 50m and was put out using three water jets . There were no reported injuries , SCDF said, adding that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

A video posted on TikTok shows thick smoke billowing from a field. A red SCDF fire attack vehicle is seen nearby , with personnel working to extinguish the fire.

A second video shows SCDF personnel using a water jet to put out the flames.

On Sept 3, a fire broke out at an open grass patch in Bukit Panjang, also involving vegetation. No injuries were reported.

TikTok上发布的一段视频显示，浓烟从田野中滚滚升起。附近可以看到一辆新加坡民防部队的红色消防车，工作人员正在努力灭火。

第二段视频显示，新加坡民防部队人员使用高压水枪扑灭火焰。
