Hannah Yeoh: DBKL allocates RM28.12m for PPR Batu Muda upgrading and maintenance

Kuala Lumpur City Hall has allocated RM28.12 million for maintenance and upgrades at Batu Muda People's Housing Programme, benefiting over 10,000 residents.

Minister Hannah Yeoh emphasised the importance of continuous cleanliness habits via the Malaysia Clean-Up initiative to reduce cleaning costs.

Completed upgrades include 21 new lifts and road resurfacing, with additional improvements to a children's playground.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has allocated RM28.12 million for phased maintenance and upgrading works at the Batu Muda People’s Housing Programme (PPR) here.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said the allocation to improve various facilities at the housing scheme was expected to benefit more than 10,000 residents, provided they took good care of the facilities.

“As long as Malaysians do not know how to maintain cleanliness, money will continue to be spent on cleaning operations, and we will not have enough funds for development,” she told reporters during the Mega Cleaning Programme in conjunction with Malaysia Clean-Up Day and a walkabout to inspect maintenance works at PPR Batu Muda today.

She stressed that maintaining cleanliness through the Malaysia Clean-Up initiative should become a continuous habit rather than merely a one-off programme.

The programme was also attended by Batu MP P. Prabakaran and Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud.

Meanwhile, DBKL said in a statement that upgrading works completed at PPR Batu Muda included the replacement of 21 lifts costing RM11.69 million, which was completed in October last year and is currently within the Defects Liability Period (DLP).

DBKL also completed road resurfacing works costing RM1.46 million, as well as the upgrading of a children’s playground at the housing scheme at a cost of RM278,000. — Bernama

吉隆坡，9月26日讯——吉隆坡市政厅（DBKL）已拨款2812万令吉，用于巴都慕达人民组屋计划（PPR）的分阶段维护和升级工程。

首相署（联邦直辖区）部长杨巧双表示，拨款改善该组屋计划的各项设施预计将惠及超过1万名居民，前提是他们好好爱护这些设施。

“只要马来西亚人不知道如何保持清洁，就会继续把钱花在清洁工作上，而我们将没有足够的资金用于发展，”她在今天与马来西亚清洁日联合举办的大型清洁计划以及对峇都慕达人民组屋（PPR Batu Muda）维护工作进行巡视时告诉记者。

她强调，通过“马来西亚清洁行动”保持清洁应该成为一种持续的习惯，而不仅仅是一次性的活动。

峇都国会议员 P. Prabakaran 和吉隆坡市长 Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud 也出席了该活动。

与此同时，吉隆坡市政局在一份声明中表示，峇都慕达人民组屋 (PPR Batu Muda) 的升级工程已完成，其中包括更换 21 部电梯，耗资 1169 万令吉，该工程于去年 10 月完成，目前仍在缺陷责任期 (DLP) 内。
